Then they are full of it - the dampers would be valved for a range of spring rates, not a 'lowered' vs 'unlowered'.

I contacted Tire Rack and they replied:

Thank you for your email. We normally facilitate all of our manufacturers warranties, however, Koni has asked that customers contact them directly for warranty issues. They can be contacted at 859-586-4100. They are a very nice company to work with but I am unsure what their turnaround times are. I have attached a copy of your invoice to help answer any questions of theirs. Please let us know if we can be of any more assistance.

(You Must Have Authorization Prior To Returning Products) Koni Warranty covers factory defects to the original retail
purchaser of the dampers purchased after May 1, 1980 and suspension kits purchased after 1995. It does not cover worn
bushings, shocks installed on a modified chassis or springs sold with kits. Warranty is not transferable. All replacements
are new dampers from stock unless notified as such. Forward below documents to receive a Return Goods Authorization

I have not had the time to contact Koni. I plan on doing the replacement request in advance so I do not have to go through the trouble of taking out the shock twice. I will let you know what happens. However, it may take a couple of weeks.

FYI the retail price of a single Koni Yellow is $388. That means the advance shock request will cost $194 that will be refunded if Koni determines the shock was covered under warranty.

I had the same problem with my new koni yellow. They leak from the top of the adjuster a simple solution is to contact koni. Koni should replace it free of charge (without pre-payment) Took them less than a week to get mine replace. Only hassle is getting it reinstalled.

I just took a look at my Koni Yellows looks like neither of the washers were flush, but I've driven on them for a couple weeks and don't see any leaks... Is the leaking oil quite noticeable? And I'm assuming this issue only affects the fronts?

Yes, the oil is quite noticable and green in color.

Ok thanks for the info, ill have to keep an eye on it and hope for the best I guess. And is this just the front shocks people are having issue with then?

Not when talking about shock stroke. A lowering spring needs a different stroke than a standard spring.

OK, but I don't think that has anything to do with valving.

I just got off the phone with Koni. They are going to send me a replacement without requiring me to provide a credit card number.
