Lowering Noobie Questions, sorry! :)
 

Hello everyone!

I was trying to research a little bit earlier on this forum in regards to lowering my car, etc.

So this is my current situation.

I just leased a base model white 370Z a few days go and have not been able to sleep because of all the things I want to do to it. :rofl2:

Basically I just want to get rims/lower it.

I am guessing Swift lowering springs are going to be my 1st choice. (all the reviews/the pictures have got me sold on these)
So if I were to install these, etc are there any other parts I need to buy/install?

I am on a budget so will getting lowering Springs be safe for the duration of my lease? (will I get charged after lease is done because shocks are bad,etc?)

Would I have to get camber kits, spacers, etc?

Rims wise, I am planning on getting XXR 521's or 526's or 006's, and so I want to keep the ride as smooth as I can.

If you're leasing it, and planning on turning it back in at the end of your lease, best advice I can give you is DO NOT MOD IT. :ugh2:


With that being said, if you still want to mod, and go with swift springs, look into ordering a set of Koni Yellow shocks as well that are made for pairing with aftermarket suspension parts. The stock shocks won't go out 2 days after the spring install, but it won't be 100%

haha yeah, I guess I can opt to not lower it.

But it's going to look like a boat if I got 18"s installed on them, right?

I would also have to get an alignment done as soon as I lower the car, right?

If you're going for a track ready look, 18's will be fine.

Just make sure when you get the springs, you get the rear camber kit as well so that you can have a correct alignment. I'm not sure if the stock arms will have enough adjustability to correct for the lowering of Swifts. :confused:

And yes, it would be wise to get one done asap after lowering.

OP, just so you know, installation and parts if you lower it with the Swift springs is going to run you about $1,000, give or take. That includes, springs, rear camber arms and bolts, full alignment, and installation cost. You might be able to get away without the rear camber kit, but it's not going to be back to spec. It's close though and some people like a bit more camber. Honestly, save your cash on this and spend it on the wheels.

Yeah...after considering my options, I think I'm just going to get 19"s or 20"s and try to get away without lowering it :)
