H&R Springs vs Coilovers

I was thinking about H&R springs because of the price ($260 ish) but I don't know if I should cheap out on such an important part of a car's performance. I don't like the wheel gap on the rear either. The adjustability of coils doesn't hurt either.

Which coilover system is the best bang for the buck?

I'm going to slam it maybe a couple times a year for car shows and I'll be keeping the height around the H&R springs height in the front and a little lower in the back for the daily driving purposes.

BC coils are pretty decent from what I have heard.

A noob question here, but I am really not familiar with coilovers. Can the adjustments be made by hand? Lets say in my garage before I go out?

yes they can! Or even in the cab if you go with tein and EDFC

Yep. The coilovers will come with spanner wrenches for adjustment. All you have to do is jack the car up, take the wheels off, and adjust.

If your going to be changing the height a lot you may want to invest in a lifetime alignment

Who else does lifetime alignments? Curious since my BCs are coming tomorrow and I'm in the market for this service.

^ Well, hopefully your local Firestone has some competent mechanics working there. Not the story where I live. They don't really specialize in cars that have been lowered. In fact the firestone I went to didn't initially want to perform the alignment because I told them I had aftermarket camber arms. Anyways, they didn't even get that far because they couldn't get my Z on their lift.

Try em out, worth a shot. I won't though.

Lol yep from Firestone. Getting it on the lift is the hard part. But after that its all easy. The guy I take it to has a slammed TT Z32 and a slammed s13 so he is used to aftermarket parts. A lot of the local drifters take their cars to him.

With lowering springs, once it settles, there is no adjusting. Whatever it looks like, performs like, and feels like will pretty much be what it is.

Coilovers are the better way to go. Adjust height and feel whenever you feel like it.
