replacement shocks

Ive had tein springs on the factory nismo shocks for 33k miles now. everything seems solid still but i know its only a matter of time before things get bouncy and the higher spring rate wears out the factory shocks. so my question::::: which shocks would yall recommend for a stock nismo with tein springs? since the spring rate is higher than the factory shocks i need a shock that can match the teins. what do yall think? Koni, Bilstein, ect?????

i think only koni yellows are currently offered, no? id do that...unless tokico releases d-specs for our cars. :)

What's wrong with buying new factory Nismo shocks? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Nismo shocks are made by Tokico? No issues to report after 33K miles? Sounds like you might make it to 50K miles. Not too shabby. A OEM front strut will cost you $130, a rear $105.

You said so yourself that your current setup is solid. Consider the possibility that Koni ride quality could be **** compared to OEM. If performance is your #1 goal, consider saving for fully adjustable coilovers instead.

Just saying...

I have never heard of a Koni with shitty ride quality. Kony, perhaps, but not Koni.

Because I dont feel the factory shock was designed to have a reduced stroke of over an inch due to the tein springs. Solid was a poor choice of words I used. I should have said its ok for daily driving but i think the higher spring rate of the tein needs the appropriate shock to accommodate it.

lately im noticing a slight bounce. an indication that the shock isnt absorbing the spring motion very well..... am i wrong suspension gurus?

I see. Perhaps Koni replacements are better for you afterall. I'm sure the site sponsors can hook you up. Post up when you get them and let us know how it rides.

Which Tein springs are you using?

S tech, the only springs tein has available i thought.
