How many miles did you get out of your sport brakes?
i have touring/w/sort 19 inch i noticed yesterday slowing down from 130(on a track >.>) that there is a good vibration from the car my tires are ok about 2k till bad shape should i go by the dealer and see if they can be shaved if my rotor is warped or what would be a gook 1k brake set i want good ones they have saved me many times from stupid drivers thanks! :tiphat:

im also experiencing the same problem. while braking my car vibrates and screeches sometimes. im guessing its uneven wear on the rotor. can't decide whether to just get new rotors/pads or go get it resurfaced. im at 17500 miles btw. how many miles are you at?

I had my rotors/pads/fluid/lines upgraded at 30k and my pads still looked brand new. The rotors looked fine as well.
Just make sure that if you are doing something (on a track) that you don't heat up the rotors, then let them cool down too quickly. (Park the car in the rain) That's what will cause it to warp. If you feel this, go take it back out to heat them up then let them cool naturally, should help and prevent a $XXX dealer bill or replacement cost. :ugh2: |
im at 34k on my stock pads and rotors. im just now getting a vibration. new brake pads are already waiting in the garage. ill turn the rotors and install those pads this weekend.

i got my front rotors turned today for 130 both were warped

Discs don't really warp, they just get build ups on them. You take away their effectiveness when you start shaving them down. Get some quality pads and scrub them in properly, that should cure it.

Oh, and while I agree with the general sentiment that pad deposits are often mistaken as "warping", real warping can happen (and it doesn't take a whole lot of real warping to make it impractical/unsafe to resurface on a lathe).

Go ask the track guys for a set of ready to throw out aggressive track pads, bed them in and use it for a few days. Remove them and re-bed in the oem brakes, most of the vibration should go away. When you finally need rotors, get some blanks and cryo treat them, now that's a real budget mod that no one ever knows about.

oh the vibration is gone i had them turn the rotors now just saveing up for some same or better brakes trust me the current ones have saved me from being hit 3 or 4 times

I'm still getting the brake issue (vibrating) after resurfacing the oem rotors at 1000km. Still waiting from one of the members with stoptech rotors feedback, if it resolve the brakes problem. |
i'm over 110,000kms, and still on the stock sport brakes, mostly hwy...

Yes, i'm using project mu pad with oem rotors.
Still getting the same issue with the previous oem pad too. After resurfacing the rotors and changing to new pads, no issue. But after few thousands km, the problem returns. Thinking of changing new rotors, either dba or stoptech. Any comments |

Stop-tech themselves have a number of interesting articles Technical White Papers - especially read the one about Warping, but I'd avise reading them all. Also: Centric Whitepaper on "Warped" discs And some decent correlating info here: Technical |
Bed them in right!
