The good news is that the passenger side is finished. :ugh2:

Most dogs do great with only 3 legs... you could try the Z with only three dampers... :ugh2:

That sucks, though. :icon17::(

That would really put a new twist on "dogging" your car. :icon18:

Ok, after reading through this thread I still can't figure this out, I have a feeling it's just too late at night for my mind to work properly - Do the Koni's change the rear setup to coilover type or are the springs and shocks still separate? Got a set of these on the way myself, looking forward to driving impressions once you are all done :tup:

The rear setup remains the same.

Finished installing the driver's side this morning and just got back from a test drive. All I can say is WOW! What a difference! It solved the problem I was experiencing with the stock struts paired with the Eibachs (thanks kenchan :tup:). The Koni's negotiate the road so much better that they inspire confidence. It actually sits a little bit lower, too.

:happydance::driving::woot:

You guys are going to LOVE these things!

I was wondering what they would do to ride height. I was hoping they dropped it slightly. Is this absolutly true or could your eyes be playing tricks on you?

Awesome news! What setting do you have the Koni's at?

kenchan 01-25-2012 01:57 PM

yah, if the koni's do lower the car slightly (even 1/4") i'd like to know cause i dont want to lower my car at all at this point. :D hahaha. (dont want to mess with alignment and all).

OK OK OK

I am considering it strongly. But... I just bought this last Saturday (ignore the list price).

Canon U.S.A. : Consumer & Home Office : EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM

Never go to Pardee's Camera with one of your kids whose only job is to facilitate impulse purchases. :icon17:

It's a little bit lower, like a 0.25 inch at the most. When yours arrive, compare them side by side to the stock struts and you will see the Koni's are a tad bit shorter. I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me until I realized that when I lowered the front down, I couldn't roll the jack straight out.

The fronts are set to the lowest end and the rears are +3.

If you guys ever make a trip to Dallas, let me know and I will take you out for beers. You all have been a big help. Thanks for the support. :tiphat:

I'll take pictures today as well.

Yep that is a sweet lens... considering it myself. I just need to sell off some of my other "small" lenses first. My last lens purchase was the Canon 70-300 L IS USM. It's a beauty. I also have the 70-200 2.8 L IS USM but the 70-300 is more compact and easier to get into sporting events (arenas).

Nice selection of lenses you have there. I have a 10 - 22 and the 100 - 400 as well.

I sold my 28 - 135 to one of my sons and the 24 - 70 will be my "walk-around". It is amazingly sharp and very heavy. My next lens is the 70 - 200 IS II, I think.

Konis first though.

Before and after shots. I see a slight difference if any.

GaleForce 01-25-2012 04:19 PM

Good looking car. But the performance is the main thing! Might have to put the Koni's on my wish list.

thanks for posting this up. so i am assuming the front is slightly ower than before due to perch location but the rear is the same, correct? :)

You have a great collection too!

I was going to get the 100-400 instead of the 70-300 but I would have trouble getting the 100-400 into venues. The 70-300 is under 6" when closed. I have a Canon 35mm and 50mm primes, an old Tamron 28-200, nice general walk around lens, had it forever. Also 24-70 2.8 Sigma, and a Canon 17-85 that just died. I want to sell the Sigma and the Canon 17-85 to buy the 24-70 you just bought. I also just bought a Nikon J1 for my everyday walk around camera, it replaced my Canon G-10, which I need to sell now. This stuff tends to pile up. lol

Sweet! But I was talking about the performance of the Koni's as opposed to the looks of them. :tup:

Nice stuff. Yeah the 100 to 400 is a monster and not exactly a walk-around kind of guy. I it an awesome lens though and I use it for stuff like shooting autocross or birds.

Blue Gumby 06-30-2012 04:24 PM

Bump

How hard or quick can you make adjustments on the rear of these Koni? Any pic of what the rear looks like
