D2 Air Suspension Kit
Just curious about these. Anyone know anything about them? I like the idea of being able to control ride height based on road and weather conditions. Thoughts?

Sweet. Only $3700 for D2 suspension... lol
|
I saw it for 2400 on another website. Just wondering if it's worth it for that price or is there another alternative that allows the driver to adjust ride height from the driver seat? My wife's car has that feature (gl450). I'm thinking about doing this so I can increase my ride height if I need to and likewise, decrease it. Being air, I'd hate for one of those "balloons" to pop and the azz of my z drag on the street like our dog cleaning his rear on the carpet! Just thought I'd throw that visual in there.

There is another thread about the Ksport kit... I'd probably use theirs over this one. You get what you pay for, ya know. |

They don't look... exactly the same, and the prices aren't exactly the same either. With that said, I bet the support you get from either company isn't going to be exactly the same either... considering the times I have tried to contact D2 fell on deaf ears. How many of these kits have you installed? Have you had any first hand, or direct experience with installing and/or using either of these kits? |
you should talk to Tony, 2theextreme, about how he feels about his air suspension. He has had nothing but headaches with it from what I understand. Leaky bags...

So...
If 2 companies sell the same part. #1 is more expensive and doesn't offer good service or support. #2 is competitively priced and is willing to help, lend information and stand behind their parts. Who is the obvious winner there? And honestly, #2 should charge more than #1, and I promise people will pay for it. Them being the same, means that I will get the same results... right? Well if they aren't willing to help me when I need them, I'm not going to be interested in buying anything from them so the end result won't be exactly the same. Therefor, Ksport would have the advantage in this realm. |

Air suspension installation is definitely something that has a learning curve. For anyone interested in air suspension, I'd suggest either finding a reputable shop with experience in air ride systems, OR doing a ton of research before installing it. |
My problems came from being involved in an accident last March. The front drivers side still has an unfound leak. Each night when I get home from work I have to start my car and raise it. If I don't.....the front tires will be resting on the inner liners within 24 hours. That, of course, will cause the front fenders to bow.
Do I regret doing it? Not completely. I knew the moment I had that accident that I was somewhat screwed. The body shop installed the air ride perfectly (my car wasn't the first car they'd installed air ride on) but that accident sucked. In fact, I just dropped my Z off Wednesday for them to fix it....at least it's not car show season. I'm giving them all the time necessary to find the leak. Unless you want to slam your car for awards or raise the car above normal ride height due to the roads in your local town.....I'd vote against getting air ride on a Z. I did it for car show competitions and because the roads around Northern VA suck donkey d!ck. In the end....it's your choice. I love it but hate it at the same time, if that makes any sense at all. |
Oh, and to answer an earlier question....I'm using Universal Air Suspension:
