k&w v3 drop

hey all...
Does anyone have pictures of the rear drop on the kw V3s all the way lowered? I have mine almost maxed, 3 turns from maxed out and there is still about an inch/inch and a half gap in the rear. I wanted to get rid of all wheel gap. Any pics??

You probably didn't unload all the suspension.

corbin09 10-10-2011 07:37 AM

When you say unload do you mean bottoming out the spring perch? Or are you talking about something that would have happened on install?

No I mean any suspension piece that has a bushing in it,all of these must be loosened then set height then tighten them up with the weight of the car on it.
If you lower your car and don't do this is will put pressure upward causing it to be higher than it should.
it is something to check on plus it should be done anyway.

corbin09 10-10-2011 09:42 AM

Gotcha! I will do that this week. Thanks!

blackonorange 10-18-2011 08:56 PM

Should I have done that with springs as well? My front dint drop at all

When ever you change the height you need to loosen all suspension pivot points then after you assemble the suspension jack up under it to move it upward when it starts to come off the jack stand tighten all of the bolts up put the wheel on and set it on the ground ,back it out of the garage then pull it back in then check your height you should be good to go.:hello:

Baer383 10-20-2011 06:39 AM

NO!

Did you lower the coilovers as per their directions?

fuct 10-20-2011 08:20 AM

Just trade me your coilovers for my springs. I will even cut them before I send them out. You will have no problem with the wheel gap.

but you may have problems with squeaking and knocking

blackonorange 10-20-2011 10:34 AM

No no no these are springs tanabe gf 210s I've read of ppl cutting them

please put down whatever garbage you are reading and get a professional to install your springs correctly.

blackonorange 10-20-2011 12:07 PM

And pay 750? Doubtful bud and I ha Nissan look over it when I got an alignment the day after instal. And they said everything was good and done right. It rides and feels good just it didn't drop the front at all there's cars on this site on springs that sit way lower then mine and I don't know why i will try unloading the suspension this weekend

the_student 10-20-2011 12:53 PM

the_student 10-20-2011 07:46 PM

In the original post you said you had KW V3s and 3 turns from the lowest setting. Now you say you have springs? It doesn't add up. Im out of this thread. Good luck to you in whatever you decide on doing. :driving:

blackonorange 10-20-2011 07:58 PM

fuct 10-21-2011 11:40 AM

cut the springs! just look up all the wonderful info on the benefits to cutting them...

blackonorange 10-21-2011 12:53 PM

There like is no benefits I know but ppl have done it I'm getting coilovers anyway so it doesn't matter I just hate how my car sits till I get the coilovers kinda looks like a boat

corbin09 10-21-2011 02:08 PM

The_student... I think my car may just seem higher than it actually is due to me having 18's.

Lol at the cutting springs. No cut springs here. I am the one with the kw v3's. This thread got confusing in a flash!

This is the drop that I got maxed out on the rears... Obviously I have lots of room on the fronts.

There is something strange going on there.... your ground clearance is about right for maxed rears, and i am not sure why there is so much wheel gap other then the 18's but your rolling diameter should be the same as the 19's so that leads me to do you have proper tires on the wheels?

and if so is everything installed correctly?

corbin09 10-21-2011 07:05 PM

Must be the tire profile I'm running. I am 265/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear. Should I bump up to a 40 series sidewall?

the_student 10-21-2011 08:15 PM

Sorry for the mixup haha.
Stock 18 tire height is 50 front and 45 out back haha. So yeah, just change your tires and you'll be fine.
