best street coil overs?
 

I'm never going to track my car. I just want to drop it and drive comfortably in the streets. My main concerns with the drop is that it looks good and i maintain a smooth ride. Any input from you guys would be appreciated.

Kw v3's

tein ss-p, hks hipermax 3, or tanabe s-oc

ive heard the same thing, but they are still quality coilovers.

my money would go towards some Kw v3's.

POWERTRIX (SS) Sport Street Coilovers
 

I'm running the Powertrix (SS) Sport Street Coilovers. They are the most streetable coilover set up I've ever been on. Ive rode in cars with Tien and KWs and definitely like the Powertrix set up the most. Powertrix specificly valves the shock for the Z34 and has uniquely tuned their high speed valving for the street on the softer settings with just enough performance to do canyon carving and some light autocrossing. Also what is unique is their upper mounts that are a synthetic rubber surround instead of the common pillow ball mount to help with a lot of the jarring and vibration inherent with the most coilovers.

The Powertrix SS also offers separate ride height adjustment from spring preload which is very important to ride quality. A feature which is absent on both KW V3, Tien SS and most other "street coilovers"

The real question is if you do not intend on tracking and are only worried about lowering the car and having a smooth ride then why not just get some springs? The swift springs have a ton of great reviews and lower the car nicely. This will save you approx $700 and accomplish your goal.

Kw v3.

It wouldn't work if you're looking to really slam the car though.

Just go with springs. Many threads here with pics to see what drop you might want. Plus you might have to end of buying some form of alignment kit due to the type of springs you choose , you'll have money for that. key word is might.

"Best" is very subjective anyway, it all depends what the Z will be used for.

Swift springs. If you really want coilovers, KW V3s.

Do you have a budget?

It seems like you should just get Swift Springs if all you want is a drop and oem reliability if not here is what I recommend

BC Racing and Tanabe are good options for $1000

Tein SSP for about $1500

and KW V3 for 2K

I see a lot of posts in here recommending coilovers that have more adjustability than most people would need on the track... What's your budget OP? BC Racing, D2 Racing, Tanabe, and Megan are decent. Tein has several good choices. KW V3 is good, but is a waste of money if you're not going to use all the adjustability. Springs will get you the drop, but you don't have the adjustability.

KW v3 would be the best setup. There are cheaper options out there, but lower performance and component quality.

Imo, lowering springs with stock shocks are a bad idea because of the limited bump travel. Shortened shock bodies would be the way to do it right. However, oem shock valving does seem to work ok with Swift springs.

Swift engineers their products very well to match the valving and shock stroke of OEM shocks.

Im in the same boat as this dude.. I don't track my 370 at all and I really want to lower it from stock.. I've read all about how good the Swifts are but they don't quite lower the car as much as id like... I'm thinking on Megans... Megan is good for streets right? Any good prices? I see them on ebay for $850

If you hit the twisties and like spirited driving KW3s are worth every penny
