Challenge - 370Z Coilovers prototypes. - by GT Motoring

Challenge, a GT Motoring company, just received our prototype 370Z coilover kit from the factory in Japan. Challenge suspension products are a joint venture of Modex A /Buddy Club Japan, and GT Motoring. All suspension/shock kits are manufactured with Japanese components. Our oem spring supplier is Hypercoil. Hyperco springs are of the highest quality, and found on some of the most winning race teams in the world in Formula, Super GT, NASCAR, and Touring car etc.

When we set out to start our suspension line, we made sure we reached out to some of the top established companies in race suspensions for components and engineering assistance. ALL kits will be assembled in the USA at GT Motoring and be able to be serviced, rebuilt, repaired at our location. We are factory trained to service, revalve, and custom spec our suspensions!

The kit shown is in the prototype monotube, steel configuration. 16 levels of adjustment. Adjusting rebound and compression at the same time. Red parts are only for prototype spec and testing. Final kit specs, colors and pricing to come!

Expect the steel version to have an MSRP about $1900-2000, and the race version, full aluminum! to be about $2200-2300 range. spring rates are 12k front, 12k rear.

Feel free to email me with any questions!

If I wanted to go with 10K for the rear (someone correct me if I am wrong but I think that is stock) could I do that? Not that I am going to I like a stiffer ride just wondering if I can.

whats the adjustability of the coilovers? will you be making a remote reservoir version? is height independently adjustable? these are just a few questions about this and more great products to come from GT Motoring... Keep it up Guys!

16 levels of damper adjustment, adjusts bound and rebound at the same time, seperate right height adjustment. remote resivior version may be possible in a year or so. The 370Z actually has very large shocks with high fluid capacity, so remote isnt really needed for most.

How well do these perform compared to the KW's, Stance's, and BC Racings that everyone is using ? Im sure theres more, but these 3 came to mind...

I have no question that the quality is better than Stance, and likely BC Racing. The dampers made in japn have had an exceptional reputation for reliability.

KW is typically a little on the pricey side, and offers no aluminum model.

Spring rates are 12k/12k for both versions ?

LiquidZ 02-08-2010 09:25 AM

These look promising. I'll have to wait until an independent review comes out.

^ is that pretty standard for coilovers on the Z? To have a rubber bushing on the rear as opposed to pillowballs like the front? Just curious

GT Motoring 02-12-2010 12:20 PM

Yes because in the rear it is not a true coil over. The strut and spring are separate.
