The BCs come with an extender that you can install by drilling a small hole into the rear trunk plastic above the shock tower. Or you can drill a large enough hole in there to get your fingers through. Or you can remove that entire plastic piece anytime you want to change it. Either way involves removing or drilling into your interior plastics. The only time I really fiddle with mine is at the track so when I remove the spare tire/tools I also remove those plastic pieces for easy access. The whole removal/re-install including spare tire takes about 5 minutes. The same will apply to every coilover that has their adjustment at the top of the strut, which is pretty much every coilover.

Technically speaking from a performance standpoint I wouldn't go any lower than 1" from stock. Further than that and you start screwing with suspension geometry and you're more vulnerable to weird creaks and noises from the suspension as the suspension geometry gets worse. Also make sure your springs are pre-loaded properly and check to make sure all of the adjustment collars (gold things) are tight as well as the nut on the top of the strut that holds the top hat on. This can be accessed through the trunk under the plastics without removing the coilover, but you will have to remove the adjustment knob in order to get a socket on there. |
