SPC Front Camber Kit Hitting

Alright guys I have an issue and I hope there's a solution because the noise is outrageous!

I'm dropped about 3" on Stance GR+ Coilovers and just got my Front camber arms installed at a local shop that specializes in these cars. I went more negative and every bump or uneven road surface makes the front arms hit my fenders on both sides. I know SPC had an issue with the first batch of arms but I purchased the revised set. What options do I have? And raising the car is not an option lol.

Thanks

you lowered your car 3".........................what do you expect

RAISE THE CAR = SOLVES THE PROBLEM

Stanced370Z 04-27-2011 09:14 AM

I did lower the car an extreme amount for aesthetic purposes and I can't raise it and won't either. This shouldn't be happening just because I added front adjustable A-arms and I need a solution. But like I said raising the car isn't an option.

It happens on uneven surfaces and bumps. And is very loud and annoying. Please help me out guys.

I agree with Jerggy 3" maybe a little extreme of a drop for this car. In for pics.

Liquid_G 04-27-2011 12:36 PM

wow so the camber arms are hitting the inside of just the fender lining or the actual metal or the fender?

370Z JT 04-27-2011 12:59 PM

Have you gotten it on a lift and see exactly what part of the arms are making contact? Then you can maybe shave off a small portion of that part without losing any integrity of the arms.

Stanced370Z 04-27-2011 01:21 PM

It's hitting the metal part of the fender. I have it jacked up now and can see exactly where it's hitting. This was common with the original designed arms but I got the revised ones with the "fix". It's definitely the new arms bc the stock arms never hit.

RedBullRR 04-27-2011 01:33 PM

Send them back, FK that why damage your fender...

tjlazer 04-27-2011 02:12 PM

yeah 3" is pretty slammed, your expecting too much. Maybe another company will make a front A arm that will clear, but I guess it ain't SPC. I know they had some issues with the G35/350Z but they fixed it. But 3" is too damn much I am afraid.

Better to just get air suspension?

But if raising is not an option then effed up looking fenders it is! LOL

Stanced370Z 04-27-2011 02:18 PM

It's not messing up the fenders on the outside bc it has like a welded piece of thicker metal if that makes any sense. It I was messing up the fenders and it was visible I'd be furious. It's just an annoying sound. Dropped 3" is a lot but that's what camber arms are for for and I find it ridiculous that my control arms hit the fender before the shock bottoms out. It makes no sense and the design flaw needs to be addressed and fixed.

kenchan 04-27-2011 02:45 PM

depending on how badly it's hitting that fender weld, can you grind some of the metal off to give clearance?

obviously i too would recommend not running your car so low if you plan on doing any driving on it. :D

:shakes head:

The noise you hear is actually the car dragging on the ground..........raise the poor thing before you trash it

I told you to lay off the fat chicks. You can't keep taking them everywhere in the Z.

Liquid_G 04-28-2011 12:45 PM

what size wheels are you running too out of curiosity?

fuct 04-28-2011 12:59 PM

not the car for a 3" drop.......

czheng51 05-31-2011 11:16 PM

i wish SPL would of made front camber cuz the SPC sucks! since caster & camber is all in the same joint making it almost impossible to get alignment bak to spec "/

And you are saying that because:

... I have the front arms and my tech had no issues putting the car back to specs..

On another note:
:worthless:

:D

I'd love to have a SPL kit also. But I've never had an issue of getting the the SPC kit back to stock alignment on my 370 or my 350.

czheng51 06-01-2011 12:38 PM

Damn my tech guy sucks lmao!

fuct 06-01-2011 02:58 PM

I keep emailing SPL about the front camber kit.... still nada. they said next month.... but that was 6 months ago.

Ron 06-01-2011 03:02 PM
