No brake dust!!!!

I'm lovin' the lack of brake dust on this car. My 2003 350 would produce a TON of dust by just going a couple of miles - no exaggeration!! I finally had to put on ceramic pads.

Could the former owner of my car have ordered it with Nismo brake pads? Supposedly low dust. Is there an easy way to tell?

Maybe it's the dark rims on my 40th, I don't notice much brake dust, either.

My '04 G35 would also produce a TON of brake dust as well.

I've got a base with Sport Package and I don't get any dust either. My 350 was awful and I ended up doing like you did and putting on ceramic pads.

Virtually none on my '09 Base, either. A pleasure...

Yah, Nissan did a great job sourcing the akebono's. :) I like them too. Plus I have gunmetal wheels so its barely visible even if I go like 2 weeks without cleaning them.

+1 and even after I changed my daily pads to stillen street pads and j-hook rotors they still have 0 dust.

SPOHN 04-02-2011 01:48 PM

I just ordered the Hawks HP+ pads. There will be some dust there.

No or little brake dust? After how many miles? I was just thinking yesterday it seems like alot of brake dust. After 50 miles.

karotZ 04-02-2011 05:23 PM

Stock Akebonos, Stillen Drilled & Slotted Rotors plus Stillen Metal Matrix pads, I haven't seen brake dusts for awhile. No joke, I have forgotten how they look like.

daisuke149 04-02-2011 07:19 PM

theres not a ton of brake dust compared to other cars. but all the dust and dirt you pass while driving loves to stick to the car. especially on the rear bumper

Baer383 04-02-2011 08:11 PM

I don't have any dust none what so ever.

It's because I don't stop:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

It's likely not the Nismo pads. They seem to produce a lot more dust than the stock pads from what I've read here...
