eibach springs

hey just received my Eibach springs (the .8/.9) for my Nismo and i installed the rears perfect but the front i couldn't get the install them into the shock...don't know where to compress them from and it seems like i have the compress the hell out of it...any one have any advise or pictures?

a lot of people say they have to end up bringing the car to a shop to compress the front springs. You do need to compress the hell out of it and many dont have the supplies to do so so they go to a shop or rent a good enough spring compressor.

You need to use a spring compressor. You can borrow one from autozone. And use an impact wrench to break the top nut loose. Be careful because the spring is under a lot of pressure.

Oops. lol. Shouldn't it be easier considering it is shorter than the stock spring???

it isnt shorter at all lol its so weird i dont understand it...it has like 5 coils super together then like 3 or 4 loose...

Their progressive design actually makes the total coil length longer.

Yeah it was pretty tough installing the fronts. Luckily I kept my hydraulic strut spring compressor from when I owned a shop.

Also be careful releasing the top nut. If you spin the shock shaft too much it could potentially damage the shock.

:iagree: Also never use anything to hold the shaft. (vice grips, pliers, ext..) Any damage to to the shaft left by the tool will mess up the seals.

+1. I've never had an issue with the Z's shaft when removing the nut. Not to say you shouldn't be carefull due to it might of been over tightened. I always put the shock in a vice then zipped the nut off with impact.
