my car is lowered an inch i want to make sure it would be low enough to clear under the car.

Just spoke to Mike from BC Racing. They are sending me 230mm springs free of charge. I must say, they have amazing customer service. within 20 minutes of me calling them and leaving a message, they had called me back and were helping me out. Spent probably at total of 1.5 hours on the phone with Mike and he helped me out with isolating the problem and now they are sending me what i need to make things work for my ride height. :happydance:

yep, i think that's the exact one i have. just get two. makes it easier get it under the car to the lift point especially on the front.

you know wat, most stores like customers that actually work on the car and show effort in trying to fix the problem. some customers are paper pushers where they just whine and :crying: and dont get off their lazy fat arse and just start blabbering off pointing fingers at everyone.

do you have much clearance under your car? i guess i'll have to go home and measure mine. i might buy something from sears or w/e because the shipping on a lot of these jacks is pretty expensive b/c they are heavy


thanks :tup: although i must say, my knees hurt...but not too bad. was just pretty exhausting since i did it at the same time as swapping wheels for winter, and since my car was lowered i had to use the roadside jack to fit my other jack underneath.

my z is stock height and i have PLENTLY of clearance to get the hydraulic jack under to the side jack point. i use a block ontop of the jack's platform so that the weight is not on the railing that runs along the side of the car.

then just raise the car a little bit (usually tires can stay on the ground) until you can get the second jack under the front brace. some folks use 2x4's or low profile ramps and drive onto it to get more clearance for the front jack point. that works great too, but kind of a hassle imho. then use your jack stands at the factory jack points. for the rear just use the diff.

My car is lowered about the same as yours Jeff and it clears no problem. The aluminum jacks are nice because you can easily pick them up without giving yourself a hernia.

when i was almost done, i found an old kick board from when i was really young and learning how to swim hah, i used that on my knees and it was great.

well i definitely want something that is a one shot deal. i have been jacking up my car to get it onto a second jack for the past 7 months and i can't stand it anymore.

yah, unlike the ac hydraulics and other highend jacks this aluminum jack is very light weight and the handle collapses in the middle so you can use it in tight space.

the higher end ones has a one piece long handle and actually pretty clumsy to use unless you have a big garage.

i have a little hydraulic jack, its one of the compact ones. good god that thing weighs like 50 pounds.

I was doing the same thing. I had a Craftsman trolley jack but after I lowered my car I couldn't use it anymore without "pre-jacking" with the car jack to raise it 3/4 of a inch, it was a total PITA. The clearance on these jacks is 3 inches and change, so just do a little measuroo to confirm clearance and you're good to go. They only weigh about 20 lbs.
