ajustable shocks not coilover
I want to change damping not my springs or ride hight. it there anyone (koni?) making shocks that i can ajust? I thought about pulling the coils off a set of coilovers and just use the body.
|
Yah I think both hitachi and Koni are still under development.
|
I am waiting for Koni to release their adjustable shocks for the 370z since I absolutely loved them on my last car (Koni yellows).
|
bump, anyone hear anything new about adjustable shocks for the 370z
|
not sure. i went to tokico's site and they dont even have a selection for nissans on their vehicle selector thingie.
only honda and ford. japanese and american rice. |

I'm surprsied they don't have them out for the 370 yet. It can't be too much different than the 350 ones... |
oh shitto, mustang found my post. HELLO~! :D
;) yah, im happy with my D-Specs on my G35C. yellows feel good too... only thing with those is sometimes you have to do a little adjusting to get them to fit and only rebound adjustable. for stock or linear springs that's great, but for most folks that use with progressive rate springs bound control is also very important even if it's simultaneous with rebound. |

I'm confused on why there is such a delay because G37 has been out even longer than the Z and there's no adjustable shocks for the G either afaik... I'm happy with my drop on tein springs, and would love to go the adjustable shock route rather than getting coils.

ahh, sounds good. yah on my G35C i have to lower the shock down from the well to access the adjustment screw. i know some folks drill holes and put an extender and that's a great idea for track folks but for me i played with it for about a month or so and kept it at that stiffness.
honestly speaking i think D-Specs are more for street and Koni's more high performance. the damp capacity on Koni's appear to be much higher. i mean you can shake a old man's tooth loose with koni's in full stiff. with D-Specs at max it's stiff but not super stiff like how my coilovers could do. :D not that i'd setup the car that way. |
I definitely want easy adjustment so I can have a smooth ride to ZDayZ and then amp it up once I get there. :D

:icon18: yah, ford came to their senses for reliability. hitachi is a huge company. |
ugh...I wish someone would put out some adjustable dampers...
|
i agree. i might end up just getting KW's and set it at stock height and play with the dampers. that's wat ive been thinking lately. also will look at hypermax maybe (HKS). i dont want high spring rates on my Z.
|
AST makes some but be prepared to spend to get them. I have them on my car and they are great.
|
I have tried calling the tech department at Koni the last couple of days and have not been able to get through to someone after waiting for a while on hold. If I find anything out, I will post here.

Shocks
Having just come from a fairly long hard run in my 370Z roadster,I thought I would have a look on the forum as regards adjustable shocks for the 370Z.
I noticed that at times the rear of the car feels like it needs more control as regards the shocks,as it can lose some of its composure at the rear end under hard load on an undulating road surface[such as we have here in New Zealand]which I am fairly sure is the shocks not able to handle the double rebound. The factory have done a reasonable job with the standard ones re ride/handling but at the limit are not really up to the job, especially as my 350Z was very good in that department. Anyway I must admit I was surprised that we have no adjustable shocks available yet for the 370Z!!,unless one goes the whole way and changes the spring/shock assembles. I too would feel that Konis would be the best bet for a road car, does anyone have an update on that or able to offer an opinon on my comments?. Greeting from NZ. |
