After my swifts settled. Not the best pics to show the "stance", but you get the idea.
Also has 15/20mm spacers and 265/35/19's and 285/35/19 RE-11's http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6169/...225ae40400.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6163/...7b6ac3f1bb.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6153/...1f11e71be1.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6180/...fba10ec06c.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6177/...2dbb18f410.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6176/...4f5a31a828.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6151/...268082714a.jpg |
Swifts rule!

Has anyone recently been to the track or autocross with their new springs yet?

Looks like the car still handles better than stock!! It's good to see that these springs give a boost in performance as well an aesthetic improvement!

why buy swift when H&R Sport Pro lowers it more? ;p

I know it has been suggested before, but I've not followed this thread in a long time.
The drop with these springs are very nice. After getting the turbos installed and getting realigned, I think my car sunk further or bottoms out more easily. The front has slightly more negative camber, so I think it lowered the car a tiny bit more. The other drawback with bigger tires up front is that there is less headroom for suspension travel. Overall the handling is sick... I hardly peel out from making sharp turns. Everyday driving has been enhanced. Basically, half the time when I drove over a speed bump my front lip, sides, and exhaust scrape. My CF sides are cracked! It was cracked a little before, but I didn't know from what (part probably from car lift). I think the springs and OEM shocks make for a super soft combination. Perhaps aftermarket shocks can help? |
^yeah, if you can find any aftermarket dampers...
|
I had tried many times to get any news from Koni but they never seem interested. It's a shame too, Swift springs paired with a set of Koni yellows would be amazing!

That is ok with me as I was not totally pleased with Koni yellows on my Z33. Then again maybe it was because they were paired with H&R springs. No matter how I dialed in the compression on the yellows the car did not handle no where near as good nor look as good as the swift paired with stock shockers on the Z34. There might still be hope IF Koni were to make em for the Z34 and then paired with Swifts.
Did I hear somewhere or was it BS that the 2012 Z34 was going to have a reworked strut? If so I would be interested in testing a pair with my Swifts. |

Your issues were almost certainly due to the h&r's. the yellows are top notch. Quote:

swap them front the stock front springs to the new aftermarket front springs, my installer did not see this very large picture and left them off, but I got lucky and have no noise coming from them after 2k miles now. |
Just did this install with my friend. What a PITA. You have to use the stock rubber pieces on the bottom of the springs.
|
Yup
|
Yes, my installer use all the stock rubber pieces for front (all the way to the top of the spring) and rear rubber at the bottom of the springs. The plastic or rubber I was talking about which came with the spring coils (clear plastic on the spring) which mine didn't came with the spring. The question is, is it the reason why my spring has noise when i drove to a smooth curve shape??
|
Mine didn't come with that either, that clear rubber piece on the picture above. But the stock rubber piece on the bottom has to go in the proper spot...

the rubber grey thing actually goes on the bottom of the front springs to avoid metal to metal contact between the spring and the shock. There is already a rubber bump stop on the top. |

it should, make sure you put them on the bottom of the spring.

Im not talking about the rubber boot at the top. There is like a little rubber film thing that goes on the bottom....I did my springs on friday, and no noise.

Here, I went outside and took a pic. This is how you should have it, nothing else is required since there is already a rubber bump stop at the top. |
Thanks guys!
Hey Ron, nice pic. will do the same |
