Installed Megan Lowering Springs. VERY Pleased!

I posted a little while back, that I got a set of Megan Lowering Springs, free for doing some computer work for a client.

I was a little weary about using these, as I was not pleased with the last two megan products I have owned; Coilovers for a 2006 WRX, and 1985 AE86 Corolla.

I decided to try them anyhow, and I am very pleased with them!! I would highly recommend these springs. They are slightly lower then H&R, and are more even than the H&R, something I did not like about the H&R springs, is that the back is higher that the front.

The ride is actually better now, than stock. I drive the 110 freeway and also downtown LA. These are two of the worst roads around, and the car actually rides and works better now on the 110 freeway. It is smoother and less bouncy. No more washboarding either.

The price on these are very good also, I looked them up in ebay, and they are only $99 plus shipping.

The fronts are about 1/2 longer than the stock springs, so you MUST use a spring compressor. I was able to use the Autozone units without any issues.

Here are before and after pics.

Megan claims 1.5" front and rear drop.

Awesome, keep us posted on the ride qualities if they change with additional mileage

Looks good, not sure if it is lower then the H&Rs. Do you have any angle shots or behind shots, showing the offsets of the wheels? I have been thinking about these wheels but want to see some shots from angles. thanks.

Looks good. Im curious about the height as i want to lower my car but i dont want to have to use the camber kits

Nice drop, but I hope they don't end up sagging or blowing your stock struts. I definitely haven't heard good things about their springs - the coilovers I owned from them were kind of "meh" as well.

nice drop! Z is looking good!

Yeah, I'll post more pics with side angles. The wheels fit very flush in the front, the rears are also flush but I haven't gotten and alignment yet, so it has a more camber than stock.

I think people have been able to get away with the stock adjusters with Eibach springs, I think these are too low to use what the stock range has.

I did a lot of reading, people seem to be happy with megan lowering springs, so I decided to try them out. I'm glad I did. I agree, their coilovers are awful.

I posted more pics in my album for the wheel fitment.

Hey I'm wondering if u can take more pictures during the day and different angles please. I'm in the market for some springs and these are on my list. Thanks!

mattjk 09-20-2010 12:25 AM

i traded it in for a new elise.

get the springs, trust me you'll like them.

i told a friend about these springs, he gave me the typical megan??? look.

well after seeing the drop and riding in my car, he decided to get them also haha

I will say the rears are 3/16th inch taller than fronts, after close measurements. some people like that.... if you don't you can always trim the upper rubber mounts.
