Has anyone swapped out there OEM 370z Sport/Touring suspension w/ OEM Nismo 370z suspension?? Just seeing if their was a difference in height.
Thanks, - Neil |
It should be around .4 inches lower.

Refer to the pic on this thread. The Light Gray Car has the Nismo suspension on it |
Thanks for the quick response guys. I'm tempted but I'd rather just get H&R or Eibach. The roadster looks a little higher IMO.
|
Before I make a decision, I was wondering if anyone else had a pic of their car with this setup?
|
I have it, and while both look lower than base suspension, the rear is definitely lower than the front. I'll post a pic in just a minute...
EDIT: Actually, I'll have to do this tomorrow -- too dark to get a good pic. But the ride is really good -- much stiffer. |
^ No worries. Any updates on those pics?
Thanks, - Neil |
No pics, but I put the nismo suspension on my Z and measured it and it was exactly to the non nismo specs from the service manual.
|
Sorry, I'll get one tomorrow... :o

I could swear I have just under a .5" drop on each corner as expected  |
I would of thought if woulda lowered more then stock z
|
mine didn't change, well it did, but only because I had replaced an eibach spring setup, but specs were spot on with the service manual for me. Could be that I have slightly taller tires too though, as I run 295/255s now that I think of it.

I did measure mine but can't find the paper work with the measurements. The drop is as advertised when compared to stock OEM specs. (measured at the fenders) It wasn't much of a drop, which I wanted, but it really stiffened up the suspension and when combined with Hotchkiss sway bars ........ corners are flat, controlled, and can be taken a lot faster than with the stock OEM suspension.

Yes if memory serves me, it was a true 10 mm drop. But be forwarned the Nismo suspension is harsh and will jiggle the kidneys on rough roads.
|
someone looking for nismo springs?? hit me up and lets make a deal!

Other than getting an alignment (I am set at ~-.65 in the front and -1.75 in the rear), I can say having the Nismo springs and struts installed was definitely a worthwhile upgrade without making any additonal suspension changes.
It is a wee bit harsh, but only at first -- once the springs settle is is very stable and comfortable on all except the more uneven roads, where it is stiff but not unnerving. Start, stop, and cornering are all greatly improved, with much more overall chassis rigidity and responsiveness. Haven't felt the need to upgrade the sways just yet, but will consider this next... as is, can really throw it into corners -- feels great, much more surefooted and precise than standard OEM suspension  |
^^^^ see even more of a reason to take these off my hands!!
sry guess didnt mean to thread jack. just messin....................... (sale still on though) |

Here's a pic (finally!!) Sorry, don't think I have a good side shot to compare with OEM... might still be settling down a bit too.
EDIT: Wait, here's one from before. Honestly looks about the same... feels way different/better tho'... Pic #1 = Nismo, pic #2 = OEM -- looks a little bit lower in close up. |
