Tein S Tech?

Tein S techs give the lowest drop in a spring that I know of for the 370z. But how does it perform in comparison to others?

Thanks.

EDIT: The H&R springs are lower...

They are a little stiffer than the Nismo S Tune, but others claim they feel better and less harsh.

I'm pretty sure the teins aren't the most aggressive drop on the market either if that's what youre looking for. I believe that award goes to the H&Rs

+1 H&R give the lowest drop and probably the closest you can have your car look like its on coils, not springs.

Teins are great to just get rid of the wheel gap, not to slam the car.

Ambient 08-11-2010 09:15 PM

I don't want to slam it, the roads are way to bad for that here.

Ordered my s techs with my volks earlier today. should be here hopefully next week.

I had S-Tech's on my WRX at one point. If you want performance...the Tein S-Tech's do not provide any...they are for looks only. I ended up swapping them out for Eibach's, which provided way better performance handling than the S-Tech's ever could...and the Eibach's didn't bottom out like the Tein's did on big bumps.

i partly agree.... they dont offer huge performance but by lowering the cenetr of gravity and stiffening up body lean they do HELP.

xSaintx 08-18-2010 05:01 PM

Tein S Tech:
F: .87" / R: .75"

Eibach Prokit:
F: .9" / R: .8"

H&R Springs:
F: 1.3" / R: 1.0"

So considering those figures, the Tein S Tech springs obviously aren't the lowest drop - in fact, they offer the most mild drop. Would it be safe to say that the S Tech's must settle a bit lower then?

fuct 08-19-2010 08:47 AM

funny you say that xSaintx, the last two days i have been rubbing the bottom of my car on a speed bump that i wasnt rubbing on a week ago. and i have had my tein springs installed for 3 weeks now.... hmmmm i would say yes they are settling.

johnnydrama 08-19-2010 10:00 AM

my Teins definitely took a few weeks to settle... and it's safe to say my drop is not as mild as the advertised stats.

johnnydrama 08-19-2010 11:47 AM

Yea along with my new tires i'm sitting 1.4-1.5" lower.. in the front anyways. I installed my camber kit yesterday and updated my original thread on the Tein S Techs

WOW that's actually a bigger drop than I expected, more than advertised for the Tein's... that's for sure..!!

Would you still recommend these springs if you had to do it again, since these actually offer one of the mildest drops around.

That seems like an aweful lot 1.5", and I just ordered mine.. :eekdance:

HATED1 09-05-2010 07:56 PM

i believe the award for the lowest drop now goes to Megan for 1.5 all around. I cant comment on quality though.

Did you use a camber kit in both the front and rear or just the rear?

Wanted to post a small update, just went in for my alignment yesterday after having the Tein S-techs settle for a month. Got the wheels aligned backed to spec perfectly with NO need for Camber Kits.

soooo your saying you lowered the front and the camber didnt change??? how can the factory height be set with perfect camber settings, and still be "perfect" after you lowered the car??

after my tein drop my front camber is now -1.6 degrees w/out camber adjustability. just sayin

The tech, which by the way a lot of modded cars go to, showed me the screen. The alignment was right on spec with the OEM specs. I told him initially that I might need Camber Kits for either front or rear, and just try to get it back to spec as much as possible... ended up not needing the kits after the alignment was done.

I noticed no one with a non-nismo Z has posted alignment results for the Tein's so I'm assuming that has something to do with me not needing new arms.

tjlazer 10-05-2010 10:42 AM

Good to know.

Maybe his TEIN only lower .8" F and .7" rear like others who said it was lower than that.... Just an idea.

I am perfectly fine with a little negative camber, even if it's off a little from OEM specs. It's the excessive camber you don't want for a daily driver. My G35 had some excessive camber and the tires lasted to around 25K so I was happy...
