My Relentless Autosports floating rotors

5 Attachment(s)
Received my set of the RA two piece floating rotors from Scott yesterday and to say the least, I am pleased. They appear to be well engineered and well made. I hope to install them in the next couple of weeks and will initially use the Hawk HPS pads and then switch on track events to Carbotech XP10/XP8's.

Someone's bound to ask, so might as well be the first. Happen to have a relatively accurate scale lying around? Can we get the weights on these please? Thanks!

wishihadnav 08-05-2010 12:46 PM

i like the 2pc rears

Mike 08-05-2010 01:46 PM

I'm sure if Scott of RA see's this post he will give an accurate weight for the rotors. My home digital people scale reads 19.8 lbs. for the front and 18 lbs. for the rear.

I do not believe anyone else makes them. I agree that they do look good. Will know about fitment soon.

StealthZ 08-05-2010 03:52 PM

They look great. He is the only one to have a front and rear floating 2 piece set as of now. Keep us updated!

Scott @ RA 08-06-2010 05:39 PM

Glad you like the way the rotors look, Glen (and everyone else), even though they were not designed too much with looks in mind. LOL :tiphat:
But if you like the way they look, then you should love the way they perform.

I am very proud of these, and we have put a lot of hard work, money, and time in designing and implementing these performance light weight two piece floating (and non-floating) rotors.
I guarantee these to be the highest quality of steel rotors you will find anywhere in the world. Everything from the hard anodized aircraft grade 7 series billit aluminum center hats, the stainless steel fasteners and T-locks, and the directionally and rotationally pillar veined, stressed relieved, balanced, heat treated rotors that are casted of the highest quality blend of cast iron, inkanel, nickel, among other materials for the best possible result you can get.

As everyone else, I am looking forward to your review on here... LOL (finally one of my customers out there that have these is on a forum and gonna write a review)

XwChriswX 08-06-2010 06:11 PM

They look sweeeeeeeeeet. The Hats are just a Matte Black correct?

Lookin forward to the review.

The rotor hats are hard anodized black on these rotors. Black is the default color. We also offer any other anodized color for just $100 more, if requested.

Zeester 08-06-2010 08:29 PM

How much lighter are these than the stock rotors ?

If you do a search you will find a weight savings of about 10 lbs per wheel over OEM. That's pretty good!

Trips 08-06-2010 10:58 PM

How much? $$

vividracing 08-06-2010 11:22 PM

looks good! can't wait to see them on your Z!

Brazilbro 08-06-2010 11:37 PM

Very Nice!!! I'll be ordering my set as soon as car is done getting the TT kit installed!! Hopefully before the end of the month!~

Vegitto-kun 08-07-2010 04:43 AM

I want these so much but no money makes this a very sad davy haha

Mozen 08-07-2010 04:53 AM

These are very nice. Ill be ordering a set of front 2pc Floating for track use later in the year. Just got my BC ERs in with RA custom valving and swift springs which ill post pics of later when i can get them taken.

As far as price Triple i cant remember how much the full kit is since im only looking at getting the fronts. PM Scott. He also has a "spacer kit" or something that will allow you to fit a thicker rotor in the rear if you so choose but dont quote me. It was just one of the many things we had talked about on the phone. So far RA has the best options (i think) for after-market rotors for your sport brakes.

Jordo! 08-07-2010 06:11 AM

Are these strictly for the track? I thought full floating rotors tended to be fairly noisy at low speeds...

Do you guys make semi-floating rotors too?

Although the rotors are designed for brutal track use, they are also street suitable.

The option of the full floating rotors can tend to make a little rattle noise when you are off the brakes at low speeds, but most don't seem to mind the noise givin all the benefits of a full floating rotor.

You have the option of ordering the rotors as full floating or non-floating.

Finally got around to installing my Relentless Autosports two piece floating front rotors and the custom valved BC ER coilovers with Swift springs. I will working on the rear shortly, but I did notice Zat_Zuma has installed his rear RA two piece rotors mentioned a another thread.

I used exisiting DIY's from this forum and the Nissan service manual to assist in the install. I don't think anything needs to be added except use the right tools and make sure your Z is properly and safely supported when working on the suspension. Some of the torque requirements are up tp 120 ft/lbs and breaking some the bolts loose remind me dreaded HFC bolt - torqued by Nissan to some ridiculously high but not required value.

When I get the rears done I will go for a test drive and then replace the brake pads and install the SS brake lines.

The Stillen sways will be installed prior to the first test drive.

Nice looking setup. Looking forward to some track performance review.

KillBill 10-16-2010 09:13 PM

Has anybody weighed the stock rears with the two piece...a few people asked but there was no response.

gpa7pk 10-17-2010 07:18 AM

Earlier in this thread I posted the front and rear rotor weight and savings over OEM rotors; which is right at 10 lbs per corner.

KillBill 10-17-2010 05:30 PM

The rears are definately not going to be ten pounds lighter per side....Has anybody actually gotten out a scale and weighed the stock vs. the rears?

If they are aluminum hats on the rear then yes they will be 10 pounds lighter if not more.

The RA rotors have aluminum hats and I weighed them on a plain old house scale. They are just a bit over 10 lbs lighter per rotor.

for the rears??

Kirkster 10-18-2010 07:16 AM

How does the car feel now???

Did the brake line bracket that is attached to the body of the shock holding the brake line come with the shocks or did you have to take it off the old shock???

I am going to hit Scott up for this setup when I get back in country next month for my roadster.

I haven't done any "zoom-zoom" yet. I'll will have the Z aligned this week.

The BC ER front coil overs have the brake line and ABS bracket (adjustable). The rear shock didn't/doesn't use a bracket.

I'm really looking forward to a nice drive in the country.

No.....The measurement I made is not accurate for the rear rotors. They are approximately 4 lbs lighter. I didn't know a couple of beers would skew the measurement so much, In fact, I think if you want a very accurate measurement you should do that yourself.
