coilovers arrived, what else do I need?
 

Hey guys,
My shop called me and said they got KW V3 for me today (already paid for).
I remember reading threads about camber kits and such.
I am kind of broke right now from paying for coilovers / rent and so on.
Will I need both front and rear camber kits even if I'm not planning on tracking my car this summer?
Tire wear is not a big of a deal for me since my Z is strictly for pleasure use(I live 2 minutes away from my classes).
The owner of the shop tells me I don't really need camber kits for my KW's (he has 350z)
I don't know... what do you guys think?

Rear camber kits, spacers, alignment. JMO.

Keep height within -0.5” and you can probably get away without alignment or camber set given that your setting up the dampers pretty stiff.

Ofcourse alignment is recommended though. Measure your car height from ground to top or arch of fenders before you start modding and keep a log how the springs settle. Expect to set the height a few times while the springs settle in.

this is why I'm holding off on going with coil overs, because you need a lot of supporting mods to make sure its done right

You only need rear camber and possibly front control arms if you get an alignment and it's out of spec. The sways and spacers are different mods for different purposes. Even being out of spec isn't bad in and of itself, it just means your car is setup for a different intent. Street spec is different than track spec. If you're fine with a little extra camber in the back you can probably be just fine with a moderate (<1") drop and an alignment.

Ask yourself: do I want to do it the right way or the half *** way?

After going through this whole process I def learned alot about what goes into suspensions & the price you pay for having it done right. To the OP, its not going to be cheap to have everything done right. Like RCZ said, you could either have it done half *** or done the right way. With that said I'll give you my suggestion of what I think you should do. Since you bought a great coilover kit and prob one of the best for the 370Z, you already know its not going to be cheap. I have mine lowered about an inch all the way around, after that happened my rear camber was negitive as fuk (ask RCZ how bad it was, lol) it was still drivable but my tires were gonna pay the price in the end and I was not getting 100% performance outta my KW V3's. So I bought the SPC rear camber kit, and had it installed, most of the camber was corrected and the car handles better/feels more "planted". Sway bar are prob going to be my next mod, but if you are "broke" as you say just take your time with the mods intill you have enough money saved.
