Best Suspension
 

I'm looking for a great if not the best suspension for a 370Z. Does anyone have any pics, brands or links to help me find one?? BTW Coilovers, I had Nismo in mind, but is there anything you recommend?

As far as I know, there aren't any coilover applications for the 370Z that have hit US soil yet. There are many different coilovers that are good for different things. So lets start by asking a few questions to help narrow it down. What type of driving are you doing? Just street? Road course? Both? What are you most concerned with? Price? Comfort? Adjustability? Brand name? On-track performance?

Also, if the Nismo coilovers are anything like the 350Z ones, they will not have any height adjustment, plus they are expensive for what they are in my opinion.

Well I want a fair price, nothing dramatic, but I want my suspension to be road and course something reliable on both parameters. It has to be comfortable to an extent similar to stock, I want adjustability available, brandwise I wouldn't mind Mine's or something similar. As far as track perofrmance, I don't plan on racing at the track, but yet have the option to set the tune to handle the track with ease.

Coilovers are my priority when it comes to suspension, any links, pics, or prices would be nice. Thanks for the help.

Well your main benchmark companies for street/track combo performance are going to be BC Racing, KW Suspension, Stance, Tien, HKS.

BC Racing is in my opinion, the best bang for the buck for a street/track coilover. Some people give them a bad rap because they aren't as expensive as others, but from first hand experience I think they are excellent. I have run other people's 350Zs on the track with them, I have them on my personal Evo IX, will be running them on my 350Z time attack car, and will probably be my choice for the 370Z. They have all of the features of the more expensive coilovers like ride height adjustment separate from pre-load, 30 levels of compression/rebound adjustment (that actually make a difference), brackets for your brake lines, and even custom spring rates if needed. Their flagship coilovers (BR Type) go for $999.

KW Suspension is a lot of people's favorite because they have built a good reputation for their stuff. They are great coilovers, but they will come in around the low $2k range most likely for their Variant 3, which is the most popular. If you're willing to spend the money, then these are a good bet, but to be quite honest, I think for your needs there are better bang for your buck systems out there.

Stance is kind of in between the KW and BC. I have used Stance coilovers for the past three years on my time attack 350Z with no complaints. They have a lot of the same great features the others do and their flagship coilover, the GR+ will probably come in around $1200.

Tien is a big name, but I have to be honest, I have never liked any product I have had of theirs. I had their Flex coilovers years ago on my 350Z and have also had just their lowering springs on my old G35 and didn't like either. The Tien Flex's come in around $2k for their 350Z application, I am sure it will be similar for their 370Z stuff.

HKS is another big name, and from what I have heard, their coilovers are also pretty good. I personally have never tried any of their coilovers, so I don't really have an opinion on them, but thier pricing is around the $1900 range for their Hypermax III coilover.

Again, none of these have hit the states yet though. BC Racing 370Z coilovers are hopefully only a few weeks away from being released, KW is saying another month before theirs are out, HKS already has theirs done in Japan but haven't gotten to the US yet, and last I checked a few weeks ago Tien and Stance hadn't started development yet.

I cant say I like the BC's or the Teins (I had tein flexes). The HKS and Zeal's are usually too stiff.

Stance is OK.

I'm buying the KW V3's which are great on and off the track.

If you want more track biased setups that are somewhat livable on the street look at some Ohlins (but prepare to pay $2700+) or the KW Clubsports which are also pretty decent on and off the track.

Best suspension? For what? Street or track?

Either way, the "the best" suspension doesn't exist. These opinions are always subjective.

I've personally had Tein Flexes on my last two cars EK and a G35. They are slightly stiffer over OEM and have adjustable ride height, along with adjustable dampening. I primarily use the car for daily driving and "spirited" canyon driving, gotta love them curvy roads. But the overall feel, of the Teins was kind of disappointing, and I plan on trying the HKS Hipermax III when they come out. I've heard and read many great reviews for on and off the track.

HKS are great for a street and track setup..very high quality great ride.

Eibach will be working on my car next week developing lower spring kits, sway bars, COILOVERS, and more.. so they will hit the market soon!

Do you know the selling date? I think I have seen somewhere that Eibach springs will go on sale around May..

I actually just finished installing my BC Racing BR Coilovers and I gotta say I am really happy with the results. Installation is very easy, quality of the items them selves are great. One of the better features is how easy they are to adjust. I actually bought mine used for about $700 with about 3k miles on them. So it was a pretty sweet deal too.
