Sure why not, lol I know they will be a tiny bit heavier. I know you got the F.I exhaust Jnaut, so that will help offset the weight difference.
Well I'm going with the Hotchkis, I'm just debating if I should do it before or after my track day...

Sure!

Yes but unless you know what needs to be adjusted it's useless. That's why there are different setting for different driving styles.
Geez, that was a quick response, lol

God luck NYJON with your $500 Sway bar that doesn't come complete! |
Might have to reconsider Lol Zeto, does the hotchkis come complete with endlinks?
Yes!
Why does the cheaper hotchkis kit come with endlinks & the more expensive whiteline does not?

I'm not really worried about my stock end links. I don't think they're quite as weak as y'all seem to think. Mine have stood up to two track days and a few Dragon runs... I expect that they'll last until I decide I need to upgrade. |
Maybe that's why they did make Hotchkis hollow? To not add stress to stock endlinks?
^possibly, thats a good point zeto
I've been debating on sway bars for a long time. Whiteline or hotchkis....seems like most of the ppl seem satisfied with the hotchkis. Solid or not, ima jus get hotchkis....its cheaper, and I've seen enough reviews and users giving positive reviews.

Has anyone tried the Eibach sway bar set?
Just finished reading this whole thread, & I think I'm going to have to go with the Hotchkis.
NYJon34 what did you end up going with?
Waiiiiit.... Eibach lets go.
I bought eibach, very very happy with my choice :happydance:

Ended up having to buy new endlinks, went with the whiteline endlinks: http://i727.photobucket.com/albums/w...4/c013da70.jpg
Why did you "have" to?
Stock endlinks gave out, I researched it online and found out that it happens when you upgrade to an aftermarket sway bar & keep the stock endlinks. The time it happens depends, it could be within a week or a year for example. It was the weak link in my suspension, and that weak link broke.

Most of the time its for the rear, but you could upgrade the front as well for better piece of mine. I believe A.M. Performance has a set of endlinks coming soon.

I got whiteline swaybars...., it improved my track time ...., BUT these bars does not have "lateral lock"...! The rear bar can move horizontally under heavy load.
My car spunt out 180o twice during tracks days in the 2nd and 3rd session.... and at that time I dont know why my car handle very very bad after the 1st session.....! Lucky my mechanic friend came along and found out the rear sway bars moved horizontally (does not sit in the middle anymore). We tried putting steel clamps on... but it still can move. We found out that Whiteline selling the "lateral lock" now. Whiteline KLL1_ _ Both Sway bar - alloy lateral lock ..., I will try installing them before the next track day..., let see if this can solve the problem....! I tried to get them but none of the vendors and even whiteline does not have them in stock :shakes head: The good things about Hotckiss and probably other brands.., they got these lateral lock welded to the bar already.....! However, some people told me that if they got these welded to the bar..., they r gonna be the weakest point...., the bar will snap at the welded point..., is this true ?!?!?! |
hollow vs solid
since drive shafts on the cars are usually hollow, I don`t think hollow should be too much of an issue.

End links are key to setting up the sway bars effectiveness! It all depends on ones driving style (more/less understear/overstear). The sway bars are only one piece in dialing in the suspension geometry for improved handling. Also, check out the spring rate/shock dampening rate (compression/rebound). When I was active in racing indy type cars, we would pre-load the sway bars/change the shocks/spring rates to fit the track conditions. Alternatively, ride along with another Z that has the sway bars your interested and compare it with the stock sway bars on the same road/track. |
