Did your "friend" hit anything whilst doing donuts?

1) go to the dealer and dont mention the donuts
2) get a new friend

Sounds like something could be wrong with the power steering pump. Having the wheel at full lock (left or right) for extended periods of time will eventually wear out the pump.

On a new car tho? wow,...maybe this is some kind or saftey function that we dont know about? Chime in on this if there is the possibility and I easy to unplug battery or reset ECU??

if not,..+1 on going to the dealership to figure it out and dont tell them about your friend...

If you held the wheel at full lock for an extended period of time you could definitely wear out a PS pump... new or not.
