Have any of you guys used speed bleeders? Speed Bleeder Bleeding Brakes Bleeding Motorcycle Brakes Automotive Bleeder Screw Brake Bleeder

Anyways I have them on the Triumph 675 Daytona (motorcycle). For the front rear and clutch assemblies. They are amazing.

If you have never used them what you do when you bleed the system is you turn the speed bleeder a quarter turn it opens the valve up there is a check valve so you can pump out but it does not allow air back in and makes changing out the fluid fun.

was wondering if anyone knows the size you need on the 370?

M10x1.0, but I think they are a waste of money. If you are trying to do it by yourself, you will still have to be inside the car pumping the brakes and won't know when all the air has come out of the system, since you can't see it. If you have two people, then you still don't need them, just a small piece of tubing to see the bubbles.

If you are doing it by yourself, I highly recommend a motive bleeder. that makes it truly a one person operation. Also, if you go this route, we use the Ford cap adapter.

I understand the Motive Power bleeder, but why the Ford adapter cap? I'd be guessing but wouldn't the Ford adapter have standard US threads and the Nissan would require metric? Does the adapter cap leak at all?

which ford cap adapter do you use? there's two kinds on their website.. the 1107 and the 1108?

it's not threads, but tabs and we use the same design. All cars are metric now anyways

i highly recommend the motive unit, thats what i use.

speedbleeders are garbage, they start to lose their seal after repeated use, mine started leaking after 7 or 8 tries

i haven't done my Z, but i regulary use a motive extractor (the larger hand pump one) and replenish bottle. no leaks, very easy to use. no assistant needed.

The speed bleeders are amazing, I see where you are coming from I would like to use the motive bleeder in conjunction with the speed bleeders.

I have done brake bleeds on brake bleeding griots pump, and that always allows atleast a little air back in the line. Even though the brakes felt amazing they could of been better. Once I put the speed bleeders on you could really see what was left in the line. I dont mind having someone else on the other end watching the fluid color/watching for bubbles.

I like the motive bleeder, I have used that also before, I just like having the check valve on the other end of the line, and for the price they sell at it really does not hurt.

On the Z as far as ABS in concerned is there any particular way to cycle the fluid. I know on my audi you start rear left (which sould be the same) But I believe you are suppose to start the car let it run for a couple of minutes and pump the brakes the evacuate the ABS. I have also heard of people doing hot bleeds where the car is on and the have something holding the brakes down the evac the system. (just make sure you do not run out of fluid...)

What are your preferred methods on the Z?

I've used both, I'd definitely pick the Motive bleeder over the speedbleeders.

I know this thread has been put to sleep for a while, but what about the clutch resevoir? has anyone fitted a cap for that yet? Does it come in the kit?

For the motive power bleeder what presure do you pump up to? I do not see noted anywhere

Just to add an option... I use this bleeder from Harbor Freight in conjunction with my air compressor and I love it.. much better and easier than my old Mityvac.

About 20, I haven't gotten mine yet. Matt can you link me the bleeder you are referencing?
