Pics | Alliance Big Brake Kit

Just got the delivery of these BBK's. The boxes were hella beat up by FedEx but all the parts were in good shape. So that's good! Anyways, the calipers are super light weight...lol... was surprised by that. This kit came with the calipers, rotors, SS lines, pads and mounting pieces. It's ready to go.

These will be installed at the same time with some other parts, maybe next week.

Mike at Blackline Motorsports was great to deal with :)

Front: 15" rotors and 8 piston calipers
Rear: 14" rotors and 6 piston calipers

Nice! I think that's the same kit that Bullitt's running. It caused his ABS to go into icing mode though. Hope it doesn't do that with yours.

It's the same, I hope not too. :icon14:

FuszNissan 04-14-2010 04:05 PM

Very Nice looking, wish there were 3 bolts instead of 2.

Ben we arent sure what caused the ABS issue. Like we discussed during the test there are alot of variables we needed to sort through before we make a judgement.

Yes, my car has an "ice mode" issue... We are unsure if it is the weight of the wheels, my braking style, my suspensions setup, the pads I am using, and or many other items that could be helping to contribute to the problem. I changed road surfaces and the car was just fine... also, I had just switched the rotors the night before without doing an extensive bedding process and tried to quickly due one in 5 mins. So there are way too many variables to make any kind of judgments on what my car is doing.

nogood Enjoy your BBK  you will love it!

Yeah you're right. I should have said that it may have caused the icing issue. Sorry, my bad.

nogoodname 04-14-2010 04:37 PM

Thanks for letting me know about it.

I'll post updates on what happens.

ChrisSlicks 04-14-2010 04:50 PM

Don't use the EBC Blue pads on the street if that is what they came with. They are far too aggressive and not designed to work in cooler temperatures. I would go with EBC Red, Mintex Red, Mintex Extreme or equivalent.

semtex 04-14-2010 04:59 PM

EBC Yellow is pretty good too. I used it on my 350 with a Stoptech BBK.

ChrisSlicks 04-14-2010 05:10 PM

Yes, if you do a mixture of street and track then the EBC Yellow is a good choice as well.

Vegitto-kun 04-14-2010 05:17 PM

those things look delicious.

how much are they?

pipni 04-14-2010 06:15 PM

Hi, can you put here another photos as SS lines, pads and mounting pieces... Thanks.

ATL_Red_G35 04-14-2010 06:16 PM

Dayhummm. Let me know how it goes :)

B1nks 04-14-2010 06:45 PM

Could you take some pics of the rotor veins to show whether they're directional or not.

CBRich 04-14-2010 07:40 PM

The finish on those is so beautiful it's almost a shame you'll actually have to put them on the car.

HKYStormFront 04-14-2010 08:20 PM

can't speak for the performance of them but damn they sure do look good...

nogoodname 04-14-2010 09:40 PM

I got the G in 2007 and another G owner got one at the same time. He installed 12 piston calipers and there was no issue with the ABS and he had bigger rims too. Did Nissan change the ABS system for the 370z, like more sensitive??

Thanks for the suggestion, red seems like what I need. I won't be tracking and it does get cold here in the fall time.

Vegitto-kun 04-15-2010 07:45 AM

Pmed him. If these are at a good price I will get them.

Another part for my most exclusive belgian 370Z project :roflpuke2:

bullitt5897 04-15-2010 12:46 PM

HMMMM... I have the EBC Blues on the car now.... Maybe that is what is causing part of the problem... Thanks for the post Chris!!! Wrong pads for the needed application could be the reason for my Ice Mode...

and about the pads i dont think their EBC or at least they've never told us they are (they're not branded if so), Ive just always assumed they were in house Alliance pads

blue660r01 04-16-2010 07:32 PM

Mike I'm bumping a thread for you. You will know when you see it lol

XwChriswX 04-16-2010 10:06 PM

OMG Those are pure sex. I Love that shade of red! I bet they are going to look Awesome on your G, it's black too right? Couldn't remember...

I wonder if they make a blue kit with the same paint on it, if so, I'll be all over those! :excited:

They come in blue, red, yellow and black. They will be offering other colours in powdercoat soon.

Ran into a problem with bad batch of tires...wth?

So it's hanging out on the lift for now.

The rear tires were good, it was just the fronts. Until a new set comes in. That's when I can get the BBK's installed. The OEM's and Winter rims don't clear the BBK's.

Yeah it sucks that JB-370z wheels plus brakes did not work out, just saw the wheels last night and they look great but I see why they did not work.

soooo when will you be placing your order  seriously though, there is another sale coming up soon.

but yes the color offerings should be finalized in the next few weeks in terms of what they will be offering. already sold to the market are: anodized red, anodized blue (pictured above), anodized gold, anodized black, and powdercoated red. anodized silver w/ black logo is under consideration right now, and yellow powdercoated calipers with black logos is most likely the other PC color that will be offered.

nogoodname 04-19-2010 06:20 PM

Just stopped by the shop and the BBK's look great. The installer said there were no problems with the install. Everything is good :)

My Vossen rims cleared the BBK's nicely. Around 1cm in front and around 5mm in rear...
Super close but it looks sick this way!!

The G will be back home soon.

Mike@Blackline 04-19-2010 06:46 PM

awesome i know the wheel clearance was an issue we were concerned with, super excited to see pics of the installed brakes, plus all the other stuff youre throwing on there.

So happy it fits. The front was not a concern. When I saw the rear rotor hats, I was sure it's going to fit. :happydance:

With the clearance being small, it actually looks great! Really makes the BBK look big.

Mike@Blackline 04-19-2010 11:18 PM

Pics or ban

AK370Z 04-19-2010 11:20 PM

Nogood, beautiful stuff man! Looks fantastic. Thank you for sharing.. Any pics on the G? :excited:

Marco_xyz 04-20-2010 04:25 AM

Hey Mike, any chance they will be offering custom colors?? I am looking for a dark burgundy.
