Non-Motive Vacuum Brake Bleed
Seems by far the most popular option in this forum is to bleed with a Motive bleeder.
I've been using a Capri Vacuum Bleeder-- seems to be working well, but wanted to see if there was any specific reason why people choose Motive over a standard bleeder? Lastly -- I bled the brakes with a new bottle of Castrol SRF. But afterward, I realized there was a pinprick in the bottom of the bottle, and was leaking. So I assume it's been like this for months, and moisture has gotten into the fluid. I should re-bleed the entire system, right? |
No need for an AIR source for the Motive bleeder.
You can take to track or people who dont have a compressor. (less crap to deal with) As long as there is fluid in bottle, it will keep reservoir filled vs having to continual watch and add on a vacuum system. Yes, you can potentially run the motive down, but very low pressure and highly unlikely, since you still have the car reservoir filled. |

the vacuum kit I use also included a bottle to keep master reservoir filled. I have a compressor so no big issue and never need to look for proper cap

Ah, that makes sense. Didn't make the connection that it doesn't require an air compressor.
