350z Brembo's on 370z?

Hello again! A local 350z owner who I'm in contact with recently did the 350z Brembo brake kit conversion. Forced induction did its part and now he's parting out the car. :tiphat:

I did some digging in the innerwebs and found only ways to mount 370z akebonos to 350z rotors using a bracket of some sort. Considering how many parts are interchangeable between the two models, it should the same as if I were converting base model brakes to akebonos, right?

What do you guys think? Should I forgo this idea and just get akebonos altogether? Or give it a shot and post my results here?

As 370z's get older and older I have a feeling a lot of 350z's will be cannabalized in the coming future in order to keep its (subjectively more beautiful) sister on the road. Perhaps this is just the beginning!

Are the 350z brembos better than 370z sport akebonos?

Both dual piston I believe, from what I know both rotors are the same so I imagine Brembo's and Akebonos should be similar in size

No way to find out 4sure unless I buy them!

I know they're both dual piston, that's why I'm asking - doesn't seem like an upgrade. Wouldn't it make more sense to either go to a lot more serious brakepower or simply leave it as is?

I think he’s upgrading from base model brakes. Are these Brembos a lot cheaper than Akebonos? I have a base and upgraded to the akebonos and no real additional hardware needed, just cut back the dust shield a little to fit new rotors, add new brake lines and the old bracket works for the Akebonos, so I would go that route if I were you unless you get them for nearly free.

350z Brembos have smaller piston sizes front and rear, even though they’re also 4/2 piston calipers. I doubt a full Brembo set up is THAT much cheaper to justify not just buying the akebonos.

It's a downgrade. The Akebono's are better than the 350z Brembo's. Most upgrade the 370z Sport brakes.

That's what I've seen over the years as well.
