Front rotor issues
2013 Z sport package on the second set of front rotors and now they are warping, I am getting a lot of shaking in the steering again. I ordered the power stop kit for my car and the front rotors were to small, can`t seem to find anybody at the dealership that can tell me anything about my rotors. They seem to be the size as the nismo, is the true or false. Not sure what to do except to buy cheap rotors from pep boys every 3 or 4 years, but im sure there is something better to do than that any help would be helpful.

Nismo brakes and sport brakes are the same thing.
You may have pad deposits on the rotors. |
What pads are you running? Street use or track?
|
Sounds like automatic transmission and street use. Commute? Stop N Go traffic?

Rotors rarely warp. Most of the time it's surface deposits. Try bedding the brakes. |
Man, I’d pull them suckers off & chuck them up on the brake lathe … machine only enough off to ensure they’re true (slots, drill holes, doesn’t matter) and then put a bi-directional finish on them with a coarse piece paper (80’ish grit) and they will be like brand new again…….as long as you haven’t worn them down below specs :ugh2:
Then ask these guy’s on here about a pad that’s ideal for your driving :iagree: I currently have the Z1 sprinkler slotted rotors all around & Carbotech XP10’s up front & XP8’s on rear………and to this day….they still look brand new  |

How long/ miles have you had the car for? And how many times did you have to replace the rotors due to vibration?

I have the same issue, oem rotos overheat and vibrate when braking hard downhill at over 160km/h. My plan is to replace front/rear OEM rotos with eather Frozen or DBA T2/T3 rotors.

Change the stock pads. They are horrible about leaving pad deposits on the rotors. Go through a bed in procedure and it will clean the rotors off. I hate stock pads.

Yes, change the factory pads. I use carbotech 1521s, but G-Loc has good street pads too. The benefit of this is the race pads by both use the same kind of compounds. This means when you have a track day, you can swap in and use the track pads with less fuss. I track my car alot so this is typical of poor pad material transfer to the rotors. In my experience, patchy grey spots on your rotors leads to brake shudder.
Get to know the pad swapping procedure, you won't be sorry. Just a thought. |
