AP Racing with Goodridge SS brake lines

3 Attachment(s)
Decided to install the AP Racing BBK (front axle) this afternoon. It was actually easier than expected, everything was straightforward bolt on. A couple of odd sized tools were required but I will point that out in my DIY write up later.

However, there is a problem. When routing the Goodridge SS brake lines for the passenger side it seems like the middle of the line is too short and it gets all twisted as a result. The driver's side seems to be longer and is perfectly fine. They are both fine for the piece between the block and the hardline connection and the 90 block to the caliper.

I took it off twice so I could compare to the side that I got right, but not matter what I did I couldn't make it work. Where did I go wrong?

Here's some pictures:

I'll get with the brake manager tomorrow morning.. I haven't personally done the install, but I'll get the answer..

Thanks Josh, you guys are the best.

Just looks like one of the blocks needs to be rotated 360 degrees to remove the kink, as you have it on the other side. It will hang down some, but should provide plenty of freedom for movement.

Here's the block I'm referencing..

I tried all kinds of rotations, but it would simply twist in the other direction. It's like the hose is 180 degrees out from one block to the other. I will try to determine if that is the case tonight by following the reference stripe, and I will check for length.

Looks like the brake line is over tightened into the block and is causing a misalignment?

Definitely take a look, and feel free to email me (josh@stillen.com) and let me know what you think. It's always possible there is something wrong with the Goodridge line, but that's extremely rare.

Of course you were right, I went straight home and turned it around 360 degrees and it was perfect. I must have been very tired last night, LOL.
Thanks again.

Oh good! We've all done installs where something just doesn't seem right, glad it was something simple.

Can't wait to hear your review!

No review until the weather gets a little better. It's either been pouring rain or snow here for the last few weeks. But in the mean time here is my installation write up.
