Pad Change? Lip on Rotor
I bought a 2009 370z Nismo a year ago. When I bought it the front pads and rotors definitely needed changing, which I did a few days after buying it. About 6 months ago I noticed a squeaking coming from the brakes. I also noticed a lip on the rear rotors.
So I bought new rear rotors and pads and was going to put them on today. When I pulled out the old pads I realized they new pads they sent me werent the right ones. However, the old pads still seemed to have a lot of life left in them compared to the new ones. This is my second DYI brake change, and I dont know a lot. Are my old pads ok? The old pad is on the top in the first and second picture. On the left in the third picture. https://imgur.com/a/uSYcO8D#B2vXtDF |
Looks like you have sport brakes and the new pads are for a non-sport model. The old pads look to have plenty of usable material. Inspect them for cracks and/or uneven/unusual wear.
