Rear spring oem reinstall

Hey guys I am trying to remove my rear coil over and put the oem spring back on. Apparently the oem spring is really tall, it appears I need a spring compressor to get it back on. Can you confirm that is the case? Thanks

No need for compressor in the rear. You sure you have the correct spring? Should just press down on the bucket, pop it in, and be good to go.

Put it in and use a jack to lift the bucket up

I was trying to do it without dropping both sides of the bucket, but I guess that’s my other option

Just one side needs to be dropped. Put spring in bucket and use the jack to get the bolt hole lined up again.

No it doesn’t work, the oem spring is too long. I can’t squeeze it back inside with the rubber pieces .

Take pics! And don’t jack up the bucket with both ends disconnected. It could do some serious harm to you.

you're either doing something wrong or you're trying to put the wrong spring back there. It has OEM spring buckets on it, not after market ones right?

I am trying to put the stock spring back. It’s just the top piece spring and the bottom piece. I try to pull it down as far As I could, it won’t work. Do I have to drop the shocks maybe?

no

The aftermarket spring goes back pretty easily, the oem springs are too long for me to jam it in argg

You still have the oem bucket arm installed, or using a SPL arm?

Disconnect the sway bar end link on the arm, and arm at the knuckle, then pull down the arm. Put spring into place. Make sure you have it in there correctly. There is a top and bottom on the spring. Plus the spring sits in the rubber only one way. Slide your floor jack under the arm and start jacking up until you get the arm and knuckle holes aligned up. Install bolt and nut.

If spring bucket does not swing freely all the way down, loosen other nut a little bit(the one which is attaching bucket to subframe). Do not remove it.
