Steering rack bushings

Hey guys need some input! The steering rack bushings on my 2009 370z are shot and I have been looking around on the web and it seems there is nowhere to get them separately. Z1, Conceptz and others show the entire damn rack and pinion....the hell! Thanks for the input guys

Not quite an OEM replacement, but Parts Shop Max has solid bushings:

Damn... wish I had known about those when I did my steering rack replacement a couple years ago.

Surprised energy suspension or SPL doesnt have an option

Thanks for the reply! Pretty sure since they are solid they create more vibration and are a been harsher correct?

OptionZero 08-02-2019 04:04 PM

in theory any "solid" part will transfer more vibration and lead to more noise than a rubber part designed to mitigate those things

However, this is not a component like a subframe bushing or suspension attachment part, that is much closer to the ground.

As that product description says, you'll have better steering feel. I can't speak to NVH levels

I bookmarked that link.

It seems the OE are already poly. Definitely seem more solid than rubber.

As 370z ages, SPL may produce solid steering rack bushings when the demand is high enough. I hope.

Just curious, what led you to look at your rack bushings? Clunky noises, loose steering, excessive wheel play...?

Has anyone installed the solid bushings from PSM?

I haven't but the rack is attached to the front subframe that is bolted to the unibody to damper NVH. I installed a solid rear differential brace to the rear subframe, have OE subframe bushings with Z1 collars and noticed zero additional NVH.

I installed the solid bushings on my Q50 (same bushings) and they do improve steering response. The rubber bushings allow slight movement back and forth in the rack. No noticeable vibration after install.
