Tein Flex Z

I've searched the forum and I haven't seen a review of the tein flex z coilovers. You can get them for less than $800 and since they aren't teins entry level kit I figured they should be pretty good and be a cost-effective way to upgrade performance and look. Anyone with experience or input on these coilovers please give me a review. Thanks!

I love mine, nothing but positives IMO. Was a big upgrade over my stock Nismo suspension with H&R Springs

Sorry no clunking noises on my setup. What camber arms did you install with the coilovers?

If the noise is during compression, like when the car is going up or down a ramp, then it’s the springs

Thrust washers will, solve this common issue

Nothing to do with the coilovers being old or new. I experienced this with brand new components as well.

When the spring compresses or decompresses, the top and bottom that contacts the spring perch and top hat. It is metal on metal which is what creates noise.

Certain super high end coilovers (basically, not the Tein Flexes) may have special coating on the springs OR a radial bearing built into the spring perch, but by and large, there is nothing in between the spring and the perch/hat. Again, its metal against metal = friction = noise

so again, if the noise resembles a popping or creaking or sharp squeal during compression, then that is the issue

that might not be it

or you can ignore me

either way

good luck

appreciate the reply and no means to offense or disrespect my fellow Zs
1st time with coilovers on it was running springs before and no issues or weird noises , one more question is this safe to drive ? till I take care of the noise issue

good ride !!!! hello jerseylaw94
in my first post I quoted that my flex coilovers were making noise and some say it was normal because of the cheap quality coilovers tein are , but just took it back to the shop were they installed and I tge problem waa they left some bushing loose , after that ride feels lot better and no noises at all , so my2cents is I will give then a buck for the price
again that's my humble opinion
