Yep the struggle is real |
Hmm one thing the alignment tech did tell me is that my subframe has been removed before and placed back on because he can tell by the bolts that have been put back on seem to be different. And there is a bit of sway in the subframe.
He is correct, a while back I had Z1 subframe collar kit installed but after a about 1000 miles with it the original installer removed the Z1 subframe back to the factory subframe collar because they believed it was one of the reasons causing the car too become too stiff in the rear and loose traction. Unsure how accurate their analysis is on the Z1 subframe. |

Here you go.

Had the subframe collars installed but my builder rekons it was way too stiff and could be the reason my car was spinning out because there was no play at the diff there.
So he removed em. |
Its been a while, but I think I will order these SPL parts soon, just waiting for the AUD -> USD to get a little better. Last forecast I saw was that it should reach 0.7 USD by December.
As mentioned I will need FUCA Rear lower toe arm Eccentric lock out kit. But will I need the SPL bumpsteer front outer tie rod ends? Is that going to help the aligment techs to setup my car to have better straight-line stability? |
"Necessary" - probably not for your application of bumming around town
These parts improve durability under hard driving and allow the alignment shop to correct your geometry as you lower the car Bumpsteer describes what happens when your car . . . hits a bump. from the factory, it is designed a certain way; as you lower the car and change the geometry, that effect is changed under dynamic driving conditions, . . yeah, you want your car to be able to behave with predictability and stability during sudden elevation changes From a practical standpoint: throw them on at the same time as everything else while your car is up so you only need to get one alignment Note that this will probably increase your steering feel |

I am about 1", possibly lower than stock.

So does anyone know where the cheapest place is to buy SPL parts from?
So far, I think it is FRsports with the FUCA there selling @ $799, next cheapest is $899 elsewhere. Can it be bought cheaper anywhere else? |
