They told me I will need the SPL Front Upper control Arm to replace my current SPC Control arms, that will allow for better caster adjustment. The current SPC ones don't allow for much caster adjustment.

I will need the SPL rear lower adjustable toe arm, that will replace the factory midlink.

I won't need the SPL rear midlink because I have a true coilover, thats what the SPL rear lower toe arm will replace.

I won't need the SPL rear camber arm because the current Eibach rear camber arm inatalled already allows for enough adjustments needed, its just that it puts the toe out too much, thats why I will need the SPL lower adjustable toe arm.

They told me, not worry about the rear traction rod because it is very difficult to get that dialed in rite and would be alot of labor. Their 950whp shop car has been sponsored by a company called Gtek that gave them a rear traction rod to use and test out and it took them 3 years of testing and tuning to get it perfect. So they believe the rear traction rod won't be worth it for me.

So I will need only 3 SPL items for now.
FUCA
Rear adjustable lower toe arm
Eccentric lockout kit

Now you got it. This will get you started down the right path.

For now.

One of the questions I was going to ask was about the state of your suspension bushes.

When you double the torque with FI, it can turn the OEM bushes into marshmellow pretty quickly and replacing bushes is the only way out. That is another reason to replace the arms with SPL gear as they come with rod-end/spherical bearings.

If there is slop in the bushes then the car will display a habit of throttle steering.

You are well and truly underground in the rabbit burrow now

Yep the struggle is real

Hmm one thing the alignment tech did tell me is that my subframe has been removed before and placed back on because he can tell by the bolts that have been put back on seem to be different. And there is a bit of sway in the subframe.

He is correct, a while back I had Z1 subframe collar kit installed but after a about 1000 miles with it the original installer removed the Z1 subframe back to the factory subframe collar because they believed it was one of the reasons causing the car too become too stiff in the rear and loose traction.

Unsure how accurate their analysis is on the Z1 subframe.

You should see the subframe collar video Z1 put up. It is nasty. I just had the SPL/Nismo ones put in.

Had the subframe collars installed but my builder rekons it was way too stiff and could be the reason my car was spinning out because there was no play at the diff there.

So he removed em.

Its been a while, but I think I will order these SPL parts soon, just waiting for the AUD -> USD to get a little better. Last forecast I saw was that it should reach 0.7 USD by December.

As mentioned I will need
FUCA
Rear lower toe arm
Eccentric lock out kit.

But will I need the SPL bumpsteer front outer tie rod ends?

Is that going to help the aligment techs to setup my car to have better straight-line stability?

"Necessary" - probably not for your application of bumming around town

These parts improve durability under hard driving and allow the alignment shop to correct your geometry as you lower the car

Bumpsteer describes what happens when your car . . . hits a bump. from the factory, it is designed a certain way; as you lower the car and change the geometry, that effect is changed

under dynamic driving conditions, . . yeah, you want your car to be able to behave with predictability and stability during sudden elevation changes

From a practical standpoint:
throw them on at the same time as everything else while your car is up so you only need to get one alignment

Note that this will probably increase your steering feel

In most cases. You will not need the bump steer kit unless you're are really lowered. If you're about an 1" no. 1.5', it will help.

shadow85 04-16-2020 06:26 PM

I am about 1", possibly lower than stock.

shadow85 04-21-2020 10:53 PM

So does anyone know where the cheapest place is to buy SPL parts from?

So far, I think it is FRsports with the FUCA there selling @ $799, next cheapest is $899 elsewhere.

Can it be bought cheaper anywhere else?
