Possible air in ABS

Flushed brake fluid last week, disconnected ABS module's wire harness beforehand. Used motive powerbleeder, no issues. Started car up without connecting ABS harness (oops). Realized the issue before I went anywhere, shut off engine, reconnected harness. Now brakes feel much softer than before.

Is this symptomatic of air in the ABS module and if so, is there a way to deal with it without using a code reader to make the ABS pump the air out or whatever trickery?

Much appreciated in advance.

Leave the abs connected, key off. Bleed the brakes the old fashion way. With 2 people. Pump 3 times and hold, release bleeder screw. Repeat.

what is the reason for disconnecting the abs for the flush?

Some of the write ups for general brake fluid flush with an ABS system include disconnecting the ABS system. Can be confusing info.

I’m with Rusty on this one.

^^ what Z said.

I disconnected ABS last time I flushed and had no issues, as well. Think the problem this time was forgetting to reconnect it before I started her up.

Also, oddly enough, apparently when your ABS is disconnected, pressing the start button will not shut off the car.

I flush my brake system with the ABS connected. I start with the LR outer, LR inner. RR outer, RR inner, LF outer, LF inner, RF outer, RF inner. I do it the old fashion way with 2 people. And NEVER let the brake reservoir get to 1/4 full.
