Driver side Chirping noise!
 

Hello this is my first post! but i am experiencing a problem with my wheel. I sent of my aftermarket wheels to get powder coated & during that process i put my stock rims on. everything was good until i started hearing a chirp chirp sound coming from my driver side wheel. this never happen before. it will chirp loud around 15-30 mph. anything over that is to fast for the little chirp to be noticeable. also when i break it chirps but in a softer note!

I did a google search and some where saying its a wheel bearing problem. just wanted to confirm if it was indeed that before i purchase a set. because this chirp is annoying! especially after im trying to get my z looking good. lol it cant be looking good and sounding like its going to break :icon17:

I'd try bedding the brakes. You may have something on your pad or rotor. Possibly got louder with new wheels because spokes are smaller.

Wheel bearings usually "grind" instead of "chirp."

not sure about Zs but some cars have a noise mechanism built into brakepads, when the pads are worn thin they chirp.its a piece of metal that rubs against the rotor, tells U need new pads..

Off hand, I'd say that is correct. All after-market brake pads have a 'wear device' or piece of metal that rubs against the rotor. When you hear the 'chirp', you have worn out the pads and now you have to replace the rotor also... :owned:

If he's just getting a "chirp" I bet the rotors aren't toast just yet. But if he waits longer that chirp will turn into an ear-piercing squeal of metal on metal as the wear indicator scores the rotors :tup:

Going to buy new break pads , and at the same time clean the rotor! :iagree:

Clean the rotors, Just upgrade them to some drill/slotted, pads, lines and dot4.
