Shims for Carbotech Brake Pads

Just a quick check. No shims came with them. Didn’t see a need to repurpose the ones off the stock pads. I understand without shims I’ll probably be hearing more brake noise. Is it a problem I don’t have shims for these pads? I intend switch back to the stock pads after events and vice versa.

You are fine

You need them to help with heat management. Move the set from the stock pads to these. it is easy.

Excerpt from the Service Manual. Click on it to read the actual text. It states " ... Always replace the Shims together with the Shim Covers when replacing the Brake Pads..."

I'm about to have the Front Brakes replaced together with the Rotors. Going with Hawk HPS Pads and Hawk Talon Rotors.... I am looking into replacing the Shims and "Shim Covers" as well.
