Nismo DRL brakeducts

The 2015 nismo bumper has huge 30x5cm DRL openings in the front bumper. I am wondering if anyone has seen examples of these holes being used as brake ducts for brake cooling. Or even better.. know a company who made molded brakeducts for this application?

Everyone has though of it but no one has done it that I have seen.

Never seen the DYRL ducts used; it would seem harder to get a connector to go to ducting with that shape

On the 2015 bumper, this is the only brake ducting i've seen (attached). it's a german race team called BattleBoyZ. I think its got a fat APR wing and some duraflex fenders

If i were to do it, i'd use some NACA style ducts on that same area, leading to ducting to the brakes

Routing the hose on the drivers side is a breeze. Nothing in the way. On the passengers side. Right behind the duct is the washer reservoir. You can route 2" hose around it. 3" is hard.

Rusty,

From your experience, would a NACA duct positioned horizontally around where the circular inlets are located on that white racecar above be optimal?

You have a picture of the duct you want to use?

Something like that as an inlet

I can design one for 3d printing if there is enough interest. But first I need to get a Nismo bumper :)

The ducts will work. Its getting them to fit the contour of the bumper. I think the hole would not be in the best position. It would be tapered back to far on the outer edge. Allowing some air to flow over. Looking at the Z with the round ducts. You will notice that they are almost flat in relation to the direction of the air flow.
