what are the oem spring rates?
 

i searched around and didn't find any numbers.
what are the 370z spring rates and what are the 370z nismo rates?

anyone know the answer?

I was just going to post asking this question. I want to know what the OEM spring rates are in comparison to Eibach and H&R Springs.....

Nismo Spring Rates (Rates taken from Nissan Japan, based on part # E3110-1EA00, except for lb/in which was converted from N/mm * 5.7099):
F:79.0 N/mm (8.1 kgf/mm) (451 lbs/in)
R:89.0 N/mm (9.1 kgf/mm) (508 lbs/in)

Normal Spring Rates (Reverse calculated, Nismo was advertised to have 15% more in Front, 10% more in Rear. May not be exactly accurate but close enough)
F: 68.7 N/mm (7.1 kgf/mm) (392 lbs/in)
R: 77.3 N/mm (7.9 kgf/mm) (441 lbs/in)

FRONT:
OE rate: Linear 74 N/mm (422 lbs/in)

REAR:
OE rate: Linear 79 N/mm (450 lbs/in)

oh wow good stuff man. So the RSR that tjlazer's gonna tackle is quite a bit stiffer.....hm....wonder how daily friendly the RSRs are gonna be at that stiffness especially it being linear.

wow that makes my stock suspension rates look SOFT.

for street i think they look about right. wat the base can improve on is higher damp rate, imo.

what is your stock suspension rate?

156 Front lbs/in 2.8kg/mm
134 rear lbs/in 2.4kg/mm

right now i have eibach springs and kyb adjustables
.8 inch drop all around, they are progressive

Front 185-250lbs/in (3.3-4.5kg/mm)
Rear 145-200lbs/in (2.6-3.6kg/mm)

4 way adjustable valving Front
8 way adjustable valving Rear

i want to upgrade to powertrix ultralight coilovers: Front 8kg/mm (447lbs/in), Rear 6Kg/mm (335lbs/in)

normally when you want to dial out understeer you want to make the springs harder in the rear, but dude to the less weight int he rear idk how that would affect the handling.

thats softer than my HondaFit's setup. :icon14:

one of the many factors making the fit suchhhh a fun car to drive i guess. love that thing.

yah, i run enduratech coilovers on mine. :tup: super smooth, super handling without trying... (downside...super slow :icon17: ).
