https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspen...7e033df7hfsgs7 They pretty Also front uppers https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspen...7e033df7hfsgs7 |
Not to knock NISMO but
SPL Parts are better and cheaper. Adjustable Rear Camber Arms for 370Z and G37 | SPL Parts Adjustable Front Upper Camber / Caster Arms for 370Z and G37 | SPL Parts |
Saw them last night while browsing, basically nismo just copied SPL.....and a few years too late at that.
|
Yup, those designs look suspiciously like SPL
No need to pay an extra hundred bucks for the nismo logo |

The front arms are real close. Wonder if SPL are up-dating their products? |

That big red piece is a sub-frame bushing. Just like the SPL piece. |
yeah they were on the side of one of the Nismo booth tables. talking with the lady at the booth she said it was a new partnership with SPL eclusive NISMO color available at your dealership. I don't remember discussing price with them when i took the pics. I figured it'd be a little more than the SPL.

I mean, they LOOK cool
but it's a part that will never been seen except by your alignment guy . . . is impressing him worth the markup? Just buy him donuts |

I've done that before. I mean, not a full catered lunch
but donuts or bagels everytime my car's in for anything more than a day I'd rather have the guys touching my car be in a good mood, and what's $12 |

Me purchase a slab for beer o'clock. Bagels and donuts are a uniquely North American thing

Yeah I spotted these parts on Z1, saw the SPL resemblance and had wondered myself. Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure if I like this though. The parts do look cool but it feels like nismo is just being lazy and cashing in on other peoples work. They should have developed this stuff a long time ago imo. |
Let's not get bent out of shape. It is common for manufacturers to do OEM work. I have to admit, the Nismo badge is cool and would not mind paying for it. Nissan could have chosen an established company from Japan but chose the guys from Austin, TX instead. Congrats to SPL.

Anyone think these should have already came stock on the Nismo Z lol
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Absolutely for those that modify, but not so much for those staying stock
Metal Ball joints for OEM seems overkill But making them available from the dealer would have been cool |

Time passes by and now Nismo camber arms are almost the same price as SPL, actually only the rear arms are a little bit more expensive. To be honest if I were about to choose between SPL and Nismo I'd pick Nismo, at least here in EU. If there would be an accident an insurance company may inspect vehicle if it was road legal. If the inspect will see label `Nismo` there's high chance that he'll assume that's OEM part and road legal IMHO.

I wonder what dealer cost is on the Nismo pieces? Might be advantageous to know the parts guy. (wink)
