Master Brake Cylinder Replacement

Need some advice or suggestions or what ever.
The Master Brake Cylinder failed after a weekend of track days.
The pedal got really long and when I took it back to the shop, they bleed the brakes and the pedal was still soft/long and then they check around the MC.
Saw leakage.

The shop I go to also worked on the car before the track event, and it was not that way.

background:
have upgrade brakes as follows:
Z1 370Z / G37 (Sport) Brake Upgrade Package
Stillen Front Brake Cooling Kit
MOTOL 600 brake fluid
Brake Pads were Hawk HPS 5.0 front / rear

I think it was do to heat, have Z1 Headers / Test pipes.

So just want to make it solid for track days.

thanks all for your help

Buy a new one from Nissan and call it a day. I don't care for aftermarket parts because they normally do not last long and have fitment issues if they even work at all.

Wrong stuff. He needs the brake master cylinder not the clutch master cylinder.

Where is the master cylinder leaking at. Where the brake rod goes?

Master Cylinder - Nissan (D6010-JK02A)
That's the part # for a 2011

Not sure if you can just get the cylinder itself.

Try and bench bleed the master cylinder before installing into the car. This will get the little air bubbles out.

I will have to take a look at it, since I am all thumbs when it comes to cars, that why I trust the shop I have work on it.

Hello, one question regarding this....is there a compatible brake master cylinder for 370z? As far as I understand, as long as it's strong enough and it fits to the brake booster, it should work, right? Asking this, because it might take a pretty long while until I can get a Z brake master cylinder.

Also, if I understand correctly, brake bleeding it before installation means that you can keep the fluid in the brakes, or it needs to be fully replaced as well? Asking this, because i JUST replaced the brake fluid and I believe it's been bled correctly, thought the brake pedal acts weird....leading me to think that the cylinder might've failed. So I'd replace only that, not necessarily ALL the fluid again.

Thanks!

If your master cylinder is failing. Pump the brake pedal a couple of times to build pressure. Then step on and pedal and try to push it to the floor. If it goes to the floor. It might take a while. It's either toast or you have air in the system.

You have to take in account of the bore diameter of the master cylinder. You could end up with a hard pedal and no brakes. Or a soft pedal with lots of brake.

You still have to bleed the brakes after installing a bench bled master cylinder. I start on the RR inner bleeder first, then the outer. Over to the LR inner, then outer. Up to the RF inner, then outer. Over to the LF inner, then outer. Then I repeat the whole process. Never let the reservoir go dry.

Thanks for the explanation.

Yeah, my symptoms were very weird. Before I concluded anything, I went to the Nissan specialist that's nearby and asked their opinion. They have a device to pressurize the brake system and basically push all the air out. The mechanic also explained that while you can do everything well yourself with the foot pedal, because of the ABS pump placement, it's possible that you still get some air trapped somewhere.
Anyhow, they pressurized it, used the oil that I still had at hand (Motul RBF660) and it was good. Master cylinder is fine, it was just some air trapped. They also noted, that it's very very rare for Z's brake cylinder to fail.

I find it interesting that the FSM says to use the foot pedal method but everyone seems to use pressurized bleed systems with more success.
