Daytona Track Day - Pad Recommendations?

I have a track day coming up next month at Daytona. This will be my first time on this track, but I imagine I'll be diving into T1 and the bus stop at 150+. Any recommendations for pads? I've been reading XP10s and XP8s or Hawk HP Plus. Does anyone have any experience on this track and/or with these pads?

Your first track day, don't worry about it so much. I would do XP8's all around or the XP10 front and XP8 rears. Make sure you upgrade your fluid to Motul RBF600 or some other brand. What tires will you be running? Stock or something soft like Pilot Sport Cup 2's? Post up the track day info please.

I've got a few track days under my belt, but this will be my first one at Daytona. Right now I plan on doing the XP10/XP8 set up with RBF600 running Pilot Super Sports.

Cool, I would love to drive the Rolex 24hr config. I am scared to death I will get addicted to track days, hence why I am so hesitant. I would have a blast but the wifey watching all the money fly out the window will not.

I'd personally stick with carbotech or you can even do 12/10 combo.

A side note, do you need to do 150+ in the straight, limiting your top speed is the best safety thing especially your 1st time at a new track. You really don't learn much going "straight" and unless your racing to me it's not that important.

I would run Carbotech XP10 front and XP8 rear

Whatever pad you pick. Make sure it's new pads that you run. Because you don't know how pad wear you will get there.

Ended up purchasing XP8/10s. Looking forward to getting out there!

Are you running on the 30 degrees of banking? I know i was told that cars without a dry sump have a very high probability of oil starving. Good luck on the track, ps if you're running the bank make sure your right side tires have at least 2 psi more pressure then the left.
