About the Drilled & Slotted Rotors
1 Attachment(s)
I have had my Nissan OEM Akebono brake rotors swapped with 4 new Stop Tech, Drilled & slotted rotors along with a new set of Nissan OEM Akebono Ceramic Pads... almost from the get go, I have been having low squeals coming from all wheels as coming to stop the last few feet.
I have already cleaned the rotors with brake cleaners, sprayed with high pressure water hose...no can do .... still squeals... I have had them rotors for about 6 months on the car and about 2000 miles . Any suggestions..?? . |
It's not your rotors, rather brake noise is the result of your brake pads vibrating. Anti-squeal works, also some brake pads for the 370z come with shims that accomplish the same thing.
Also have you properly bedded your brakes? That may help. |
agree to try putting the brake grease on the back of your pads/shims. Auozone usually has a small packet up front for like a dollar. Get two or three and it should help!

+1 for improper bedding
|
The pads should have 2 shims for each pad. Ensure that you are using those and apply pure silicone Brake grease to the back of the shims and rails.

Thanks for your inputs...

***UPDATE***
Success... I bought a bottle of CRC Brake & Calipers graphite Grease, took the Pads out, cleaned, smothered the Caliper piston contact area with the grease, also, smothered the four corner contact points of the pads....repacked....noise stopped immediately and now after a week still have not heard a note from the brakes !!!... and I'm a happy camper... Thanks for the replies and hope others with same problem read and do !! |
Now go bed your pads and season your rotors. Google is your friend.
