Its mounts and poor coil over setup that makes the ride harsh. Most of the SPL parts just add strength and/or adjust ability and don't have much effect on ride quality on their own.

Solid engine mounts (Z1), transmission mounts (Z1), subframe (SPL) and diff bushings (SPL or Z1). These transmit much more vibrations from your drivetrain. Good compromise would be the urethane versions.

If you do just the SPL arms, their spherical bearings don't increase vibrations much, but do increase the NVH and road noise a bit. Feeling to road surface is more direct, but won't result in unbearable vibrations. Will be a problem only if you are an audiophile that wants to enjoy crystal clear music while driving the Z, which can be remedied with extra sound deadening.

SPL arms with spherical bearings...i felt no difference in harshness of ride.

of all the things that affect ride quality, i would think lower profile tires and your choice of spring/shock/coilover would have far greater impact

If you are planning to go with all SPL parts. This is what you will be doing.
