Lower ball joint is the problem
|
Do I replace whole lower control arm or just the two joints
|
My old man had to replace the lower ball joint on his 350 and he just bit the bullet on the whole control arm.
Whatever you choose, my recommendation would be to go OEM. |
Check the SPL spherical bearing (heim joint) alignment on your camber arms, they need to be centered (page 4 of the install guide). Make sure they have not twisted, you could be hearing the bearing bottoming out.

Ima check the spl camber bearings, is it common the lower ball joints go bad, can I just replace the bushings
|
I have no idea if ball joint failures are common. It looks like you drive a '16?
I find it hard to believe that you already have failure, not out of the relm of possible I guess... What did you find? The problem you described was what I had, especially at low speed when turning over a bump, like a driveway or indentation. No such problem after a straighten of the heim and re-torque. |
U were right flyfish, spl bearing was the problem. Thank u so much.

Thanks JerryDeluxe for letting us know ,"what it was".
Too often on forums, there are posts with a problem. Suggestions are given. However, the OP just disappears... Nobody learns anything. To give and learn is the beauty of a forum. |
