Stance XR1 vs. Fortune Auto 500 True-Type Coilovers
Hey everyone! So I'm having a huge dilemma right now... I have a 2013 G37S 6MT Sedan (Yes, I know, not a 370Z, but close enough...)
I figured this forum would be able to help me out, as you guys are a little more performance-oriented than the G37 side. I have the option of either purchasing Stance XR1 true-type coilovers, with 12/8k Swift springs, or Fortune Auto 500 Gen 6 true-type with 11/8k Swift springs. My other suspension mods include Hotchkis adjustable front and rear adjustable sway bars, Cusco strut bar, SPL FUCA, SPL rear camber arms, SPL toe arms, and the SPL eccentric lockout kit. Along with a square set of 19x9.5 +40 2015+ NISMO wheels with 255/40/19 Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Which setup would you choose? There's only a $50 difference, so price really isn't a factor. My car is a daily driver, but I do enjoy back roads, and may do 2-3 Auto X/track sessions a year. Thanks again! |
I don't think you can go wrong with either one as far spring rates go I would look at going 13/10. I find the this setup to provide firm but comfortable ride on the street and performs well at the track also.

Yes oem and to your second point about the G weighing more than the Z is another reason I suggested the heavier springs. I just didn't articulate that!

I'm going to run a similar setup to you right down to the tires. I'm running 275 in the front and 295 in the rear.
The reason why it's better to switch to true style coilover is adjustability and the suspension is more predictable. I went with the Stance coilovers. The dampers are top notch. I went to the North American distributor and the had a couple of coilovers that were cut open and the stance coilovers are top notch. They are also magnesium plated instead of powder coated to prevent rust. |
Welp, I've had my Stance XR1 coilovers, SPL FUCA, SPL toe arms, SPL camber arms and SPL eccentric lockout kit on the car for roughly 3 weeks now.
All I can say is, I'm VERY satisfied with this setup. The ride isn't "rough" at all, but it is firm/assuring. Steering feels very direct and it's not jarring by any means. I forget that it's even lowered on long drives. The only thing was that I had a clunking issue from the driver side front when I was going over speed bumps, which ended up being my end links. I replaced all 4 of my end links with Moog replacements when I upgraded to Hotchkis sway bars. Can't recommend this setup enough. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...d43ebbc507.jpg |
