I do not track my car; i go to the dragstrip,perform burnouts,drift,etc.....& i have very little negative rear camber....tire wear is exactly the same on both rear tires/inside & outside.
I can only speak for what i have (Quaife) it's working for me......about 7500 miles on it.

The problem comes when you lift a rear tire or loose traction on one side. It is a common issue with Torsional diffs. The Wavetrac has a device to help prevent this. Some good reading on it.

I have Wavetrac and it has been an awesome upgrade. I can tell you that it functions well on the street and at the track. Wheel spin and fish tails are very predictable as well. If you are going to track you need to get stiff front sway bar as well...I recommend Hotchkis!

Yeah but how many people can regularly tripod their Z? Quaife is good Wavetech is better if you find yourself getting one rear wheel airborne in turns.

I can do that easily. I also happen to live extremely close to the tail of the dragon. I will pick a wheel up enough to unload the inside wheel quite a few times. Also, the correct line through turn 3 at Road Atlanta will have your inside wheels off the ground.

And the OS Giken is the best for every situation.

Lol, I don't know if you are boosted and what the roads and race tracks are like were you live but I can tell you this your rear tires leave the road surface a lot more than think. Under hard acceleration a small bump in the road will cause one or both tires to leave the surface. What can happen is that all the power goes to one wheel and that can become a problem real fast especially if the car is not pointed in a straight line!

The only downside to OS Gikin is the maintenance, but I agree it is the best of three diffs mentioned for full time track purposes.

The maintenance really isn't that bad though. It's just fluid changes for the majority of the time, with maybe a rebuild every couple years, depending on abuse levels.

I think most of us that are over the top with our relationship with our cars consider maintenance as part of the fun of having a specialized ride! :eek:
