370Z Megan Racing Coilovers Damper Kit

It seems like there is new suspension kit out, Megan Racing Coilovers.

eBay Motors: 2009 Nissan 370Z Megan Racing Coilovers Damper Kit (item 300284031888 end time Jan-30-09 09:34:28 PST)

And in the descriptions, this suspension can also be used by G37 with spring rates of Spring Rates: 12kg Front and 8kg Rear.

One quick question, I would need to buy rear camber if I drop it more than 1 inch right?

Slidefox 01-08-2009 12:22 AM

Hmmm..... I wonder if they are just assuming the G37 coilovers will work on the 370??

G in ny 01-08-2009 12:42 AM

The G37 ***** def fit on the 370 I knew it

Wow! Forgot all about Megan racing. I have a set of their headers for my 300 I need to get rid of.

Do yourself a favor and forget you ever saw these. Megan Racing products belong on ebay.

There are plenty of other budget coilovers that actually work.

Some companies are assuming that the G37 stuff will transfer over to the 370Z, but I haven't found any confirmation yet that says it does or it doesn't. I have a set of G37 BC Racing Coilovers on their way to me now so the day I get my 370Z I can see if they fit or not.

RCZ 01-09-2009 12:15 PM

You know what? you guys should just let these people who can't wait a few weeks/months get crap that doesn't fit their cars. After all, anyone rushing to buy coilovers right now isn't buying them for performance related reasons.

Guys, if you are in such a rush to lower the car that you are willing to put stuff that isnt designed for it -- on it, then you might as well cut your springs and call it a day because that will perform just a shittily, but hey at least you KNOW they will fit.

Just go ahead and buy springs/coilovers made for the G37. When they don't fit or you are digging your car out of a ditch, don't blame anyone but yourselves.

Oh and just because someone on ebay puts something on and says it fits, it doesn't mean it fits. While on the subject, Meghan Racing coilovers are awful and fall apart, they don't belong on a 370z.

MSL82: What do you mean by "buy rear camber"? Do you mean like buying camber plates or what?

OMGWTFBBQ 01-18-2009 12:20 PM

Yup. I definitely agree. I think it's way too early in the game to be buying any performance related product. Not enough R&D time in my opinion.

Aero kits and other aesthetic bits are still fair game though.

IMHO, if people start selling coils that fits but is not design specifically for the car, it will affect the over all performance of the vehicle. If these were the g37 coils, and people buy them for the Z it should work if all you want is ride height adjustability but it would definitely hurt the handling of the Z since the G37 weighs alot more and the weight distrubution of the car is completely different. Plus they usually design G37 coils for a slightly smoother setup, unlike the 370z, to me is one sick sports car!

I would wait for a set of coilovers from a manufacturer that actually did the R&D for the 370z

Again just my honest opinion.

Definitely always stayed away from megan racing.

+1

Also, people be careful. It has happened time and time again already that G37 Struts are too long for the 370Z. They are not interchangeable..

Wow. This thread should be called "bashing Megan Racing".

I also have a Yaris and there are not many aftermarket manufacturers that support it with performance products. Megan racing is one the few companies that do make parts for the Yaris and you hear people talk favorably about Megan racing on the Yaris forums. What makes their products for the 370z bad? And is this first hand experience with their products?

Comments like, "yeah I've always stayed away from them" is not useful. If you said something like, "I had a set of coil overs on my 350z and they had to be rebuilt after 12 months", that would be useful.

I'm very tempted to get a set of their coil overs because almost anything would be better than what the stock setup is giving me for performance. The 370z with sport package is scary at speed over rough tranistions because it is under damped and gets floppy.

M.Bonanni 05-14-2009 12:15 PM

I have driven cars with Megan products and have no complaints, nor have I heard any actual horror stories about their stuff from others personal experiences. In fact, the Megan BBK is probably my favorite brake kit for the 350Zs. And I don't even sell Megan products so you know I am telling the truth :D.

LiquidZ 05-15-2009 08:12 AM

I'm still going with BC Racing ER coilovers
